Another full 22-ton load of cabbages was also delivered and distributed yesterday (Tuesday), bringing the three combined loads to nearly 99 tons JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

This means that The People of South Africa Foundation, in partnership with the Limpopo Farmers and two transport companies, as well as beneficiaries and partners and the work of hundreds of hands and vehicles were able to provide cabbage and potatoes for nearly 378000 meals this Christmas

Mangoes are in Season
A month later they will be out of season

Zambia has extensive trees of Mangoes across villages, urban and peri urban areas and during the fruiting season nearly all Zambian Public markets sell mangoes of all shapes and sizes. The streets are littered with mangoes.People from the Cities also sell mangoes in their trucks and vehicles.

The sad reality is that while the in-season has plenty of mangoes and people have access to cheaper and free mangoes to some extent, the season remains very short. Very little value addition is done owing to little investments in processing equipment and many other factors.

The questions remain unanswered on what should be done to support the value chain?

UN-Habitat’s latest report, launched at , captures a major shift: countries are treating urban action as essential to delivering their climate goals.

An analysis of national climate plans (NDCs 3.0) submitted before October 2025 reveals:
🟢 The number of NDCs with strong urban content has nearly doubled
🏘️ Record climate responses in urban sectors, with almost half including housing and
informal settlements
🌆 78% include cities in adaptation & mitigation responses
📈 Urban climate responses has increased by 71%
🤝 Multilevel governance is referenced in 2 out of 3 NDCs
💰 Finance is now mentioned in nearly half of NDCs
