Minister of Health Praises 83% Drug Availability at Kamisamba Health Post in Watopa Village, Kabompo

The Minister of Health, Dr. Alex Katakwe has expressed delight with the drug status at Kamisamba Health Post, noting over *83% availability* of essential health commodities at the facility.

Speaking at the ongoing CAPAH in Kabompo District Dr. Katakwe highlighted the impact of the recent REA connection:

“With electricity now powering Kamisamba Health Post, we can store vaccines and temperature-sensitive medicines safely. This is infrastructure working for our people.” The Minister noted.

The facility’s new connection enables fridges to run consistently, securing the cold chain for drugs that would otherwise be compromised. This means patients in Watopa and surrounding areas can now access treatment without traveling long distances.

The event was officiated by Hon. Ambrose Lufuma, Guest of Honour on behalf of Vice President Dr. W.K. Mutale Nalumango, and forms part of President HH’s commitment to strengthen Healthcare
