Community Outreach | Empowering Young Adolescents 💙🌍

Today’s community outreach is all about engaging young adolescents with accurate information on reproductive health (RH), contraception, and HIV prevention. Through open and friendly conversations, we create a safe space where young people can ask questions, learn about protecting themselves, and make informed decisions about their health.

We are also raising awareness about HIV prevention and PrEP, including long-acting injectable PrEP options such as Lenacapavir (LEN) and cabotegravir (CAB), where available and appropriate.

Empowering adolescents with knowledge today, building a healthier community tomorrow. 🫶🏾📚💙

Community Outreach Success!

Yesterday, Kawama Adolescent Friendly Space took part in the Health Beam United Day community outreach in the Kamatipa area.

We engaged with young people and the community, raising awareness on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), teenage pregnancy prevention, HIV and AIDS, and STIs. We also participated in condom distribution, providing information and support to youths.

It was a successful and impactful outreach. Special thanks to our coordinator and the health facility for their continued support and guidance in making this activity possible.

OLDIES Day Highlights 🎉

On Saturday, Kawama Youth Friendly Space collaborated with Chimwemwe Youth Friendly Space to host a memorable OLDIES Day at Kawama Kamatipa Combined School.

The event brought young people together to relive their childhood through traditional games, stor I'mytelling, dance, and other fun-filled activities. Participants also enjoyed a variety of traditional foods, celebrating our cultural heritage while strengthening friendships and promoting unity.

It was a day filled with laughter, learning, nostalgia, and unforgettable memories. Together, we continue creating safe and welcoming spaces where young people can connect, learn from one another, and thrive.

Today we had an insightful session on Understanding Emotions. We discussed the different types of emotions, how they affect our daily decisions and relationships, and practical ways we can manage them. It was a powerful reminder that knowing and handling our emotions well is key to growth, peace, and making better choices.
