CarerHelp has developed a range of resources designed to support people who are LGBTIQ+, carers caring for someone who is LGBTIQ+ or support workers supporting LGBTIQ+ patients may find useful. 🌱 Living with Illness: Understanding Emotional Challenges

💛 Living with a life-limiting illness can bring many emotional challenges. Feeling worried, overwhelmed, sad, or uncertain is a normal response to difficult changes and experiences. Patients do not have to face it alone.

Ways to support emotional wellbeing:
🔹 Talk with someone you love and trust 💬
🔹 Accept support - Family, friends and carers often value the opportunity to help and support 🤝
🔹 Leave a legacy creating memories through photographs 📸, letters, personal treasures, or written reflections can help share your story, wisdom, and values
🔹 Manage stress through relaxation 🧘, sleep, exercise, and social connection
🔹Seek counselling. Talking with a professional can help when sharing with family or friends feels difficult.
