⚠️ Did you know you could accidentally be doubling up on anti-inflammatory medicines?

Many common pain relief medicines belong to the same medicine family, known as NSAIDs, even though they have different brand names.

Examples include Nurofen, Advil, Voltaren, Naproxen, Mobic and Celebrex.

Taking more than one NSAID at the same time can increase your risk of:

• Stomach irritation and ulcers
• Bleeding
• Kidney problems
• Raised blood pressure

Always check with your pharmacist before combining pain medicines.

Not sure if your medicines belong to the same family? Bring them in or speak to the team at Springfield Pharmacy. We’re here to help.

💧 Hydration matters.

Whether it’s a busy day, illness, travel, exercise or simply keeping up with everyday life, staying hydrated is essential for feeling your best. Hydralyte helps replace fluids and electrolytes lost through sweating, heat and dehydration, and is designed to rehydrate faster than water alone. (Hydralyte)

Pop into Springfield Pharmacy and chat with our team about which Hydralyte option is right for you. 💙

Still reaching for your nasal spray every day?

Your blocked nose may actually be caused by the spray itself.

Some medicated nasal sprays containing oxymetazoline or xylometazoline can cause rebound congestion when used for too long, making it feel like you need them more and more.

Remember the 3-day rule:

✔️ Medicated nasal sprays are for short-term use only
✔️ Saline nasal sprays do not cause rebound congestion
✔️ If you’re relying on a nasal spray every day, speak to your pharmacist before stopping

Not all nasal sprays are the same. The team at Springfield Pharmacy can help you choose the right option for your symptoms.

Behind every great pharmacy is a great community ❤️

From caring for the community every day to being looked after by her own family at home, it’s a reminder that healthcare is always personal.

We’re grateful to be part of such a supportive community. 🫶

Did you know taking iron every day may not always be the most effective approach?

Research has shown that iron supplements can increase a hormone called hepcidin, which temporarily reduces how much iron your body absorbs. For some people, taking iron on alternate days may improve absorption and reduce common side effects such as nausea and constipation.

Potential benefits of alternate-day dosing may include:

✔️ Improved iron absorption
✔️ Fewer gastrointestinal side effects
✔️ Better tolerance and consistency

The right dose and schedule depends on your individual needs, blood test results and medical history.

Before making any changes to your iron supplement, speak to the team at Springfield Pharmacy for personalised advice.

Blocked nose? Sneezing? Runny nose?

The best treatment depends on what’s causing your symptoms.

🔴 Decongestants can help relieve a blocked nose and sinus congestion.

🔵 Antihistamines can help with sneezing, itchy eyes and runny noses caused by allergies.

Choosing the right product can help you feel better sooner.

Not sure which one is right for you? Speak to the team at Springfield Pharmacy for personalised advice.

We asked one of our regulars why Springfield ( the dance was a bonus )

03/06/2026

18 months ago, Springfield Pharmacy opened its doors with one goal — to be more than just a pharmacy.

What we’ve found is something even more special.

A community that supports local, checks in on one another, shares a smile, and makes every day meaningful. 💙

To our incredible team, thank you for your care, passion and dedication. And to our community, thank you for trusting us with your health and wellbeing.

It’s only been 18 months, but thanks to you, it feels like we’ve been part of the neighbourhood forever.

Here’s to growing together for many years to come. 🙏💙

3 things we wish people would stop doing 🛑

1. Putting ALL medication in the fridge
Not everything belongs in there. Some medications actually degrade faster when refrigerated. Always check the label — or better yet, ask us and we’ll tell you exactly how to store each one properly.

2. Taking expired medication
Expired doesn’t just mean less effective — some medications can actually become harmful over time. Bring them into Springfield Pharmacy and we’ll dispose of them safely for you. No questions, no judgment. Just drop them in. 🙏

3. Googling symptoms and taking medical advice from AI
We love technology. But nothing replaces a real conversation with a qualified pharmacist who actually knows you. If something doesn’t feel right — come in and talk to us.

We’re here for all your pharmacy needs 💚
No appointment. No referral. Just pop in.
