🎄🧑🏼🎄For those trying to improve their health and lifestyle, festive events can feel like a bit of a minefield. Here’s some simple tips for not straying too far off track:
- choose a palm sized amount of protein
- load your plate with veggies (but stick to just one potato)
- choose sauces that aren’t sugar based: avoid the cranberry, apple or mint sauces and choose a mustard or a little gravy
- fill your plate once and let it digest for 20 minutes before deciding on whether you’re still hungry - are you actually hungry or just over indulging?
- be mindful of alcohol consumption, drink water between drinks
- enjoy a small portion of dessert if you wish!
Ultimately, just enjoy yourself! It’s one day (or maybe 2-3) and you already have all the skills to get back to your usual healthy eating patterns afterwards. There’s no need for mad detoxes or crazy restrictions to make up for over doing it, just go back to loading up on veggies 🥗
