I’ve loved getting to 40. ❤️
It feels like I’ve already lived a few different lives, in at least two different worlds, and somehow all of those versions of me have brought me here.
There’s something about lying awake at 3am, listening to the rain fall, that has me thinking about just how much life I’ve already been lucky enough to live.
Getting older is a privilege denied to so many, and I don’t take that lightly.
If anything, the older I get, the more tenderly I hold the simple things.
The ordinary moments.
Rain on the roof.
A quiet house.
My children.
The people I love.
The animals curled up beside me.
A good conversation.
Laughing over something silly.
Waking up to another morning.
Those moments don’t announce themselves as important. There are no fireworks telling us to remember them. But somehow, they become the pieces of life that mean the most.
So I don’t look at 40 and think, where did all those years go?
I think, look at all the years I got.
All the love, lessons, mistakes, heartbreak, laughter, growth and ordinary beautiful moments that made up those years.
And now I get to begin another chapter — carrying forward what matters and letting the rest wash away.
I’m entering my 40s knowing more deeply who I am, what matters to me, and what I want to leave behind. I’m still fighting for the life I believe in, still building, still dreaming, and now I’m thinking beyond just the life I’m living.
I’m building legacy.
Something meaningful for my children, my family and the generations that come after me. Something that says I was here, I loved deeply, I kept going, and I left something good behind.
What an absolute privilege it is to be here. ❤️
Hello, 40. 🌧️✨
