NextSense NextSense is a not-for-profit that provides services for people with hearing or vision loss.

We work with both children, adults and their families to educate and create an individual program of care that meets their unique needs. We’re a registered NDIS provider, and we work with you to achieve your goals and potential. With the support of generous donations, NextSense provides vital support for children and adults, more cochlear implants than any other service in Australia, and is a world leader for research, technology and professional education in our field.

🫶 Every Auslan user counts.

Every five years, the Census helps shape Australia's future. For the Deaf community, it also shapes how governments understand the size, diversity and needs of people who communicate in Auslan.

✴️If Auslan is your primary or preferred language, make sure you record it in the 2026 Census.

In the 2021 Census, 16,242 people recorded using Auslan at home. Many believe the true number is much higher. Every person who identifies Auslan helps build a clearer picture of our community and strengthens the case for better accessibility, services and recognition.

When completing either your own (or the person you are helping) Census form:

✅ Go to Question 21
✅ Select "Yes, other language (please specify)"
✅ Write or type "Auslan"

It takes only a few seconds, but the impact can be felt for years to come.

Please share this post to help spread the word so every Auslan user has the opportunity to be counted.

It's a heartwarming reminder that language has the power to comfort, connect & reassure, whether it's spoken or signed.

A huge thank you to Community Bank Epping for helping create more opportunities for children to learn, play & thrive at NextSense Preschool.

Thanks to the Bank’s generous grant, we’ve been able to purchase new outdoor play equipment that encourages exploration, movement, creativity & social connection for children who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision, alongside their peers from the broader community 🧩

We were delighted to recently welcome Community Bank Epping Committee Chair Craig Gallagher & Committee Member Victor Serna to Macquarie Park, where they saw the new equipment in action & met some of the team whose work their support has helped make possible.

Outdoor play is such an important part of every child’s development, helping build confidence, communication, physical skills & independence.

We’re incredibly grateful to Community Bank Epping for investing in experiences that will benefit children & families for years to come. Thank you for your partnership & commitment to helping children reach their full potential 💙

Our NextSense School students recently made a visit across the road to RDA NSW Ryde Centre 🐎

As part of the Horse Riding Program, students built their riding skills & coordination while also learning how to care for horses. Every session was led by experienced RDA coaches & supported by dedicated volunteers, whose encouragement helped make the experience so rewarding. Celebrating an inspiring journey 💙

A 95.3 ATAR is an incredible achievement, but it's only part of Joshua’s story. From learning Braille as a young child to receiving specialist support through our School Support Service, Josh has worked tirelessly to pursue his goals. Today, he's studying a double degree in Engineering & Architectural Design.
