On Tuesday, a couple of our speechies went along to an event held by MNDWA to learn about the latest in communication technology for people living with MND. Here’s what Georgia had to say 👇

“The take home message of the session was communication changes in MND is MORE than just speech.”

“The highlight of the day was hearing from Ian, who was diagnosed with MND in 2024. He shared a bit about his journey with his diagnosis, symptoms, communication changes and AAC he is using. He recorded a short speech using a speech generating device.”

“We also looked at some AAC options that people living with MND may find useful. I took a look at the Hiru with Grid 3 which I hadn’t seen before. It works on both Windows and iOS operating systems. It was super light!”
