🚨 Ceiling Lift Safety: What NOT To Do 🚨

Ceiling lifts are designed to make transfers safer and easier for both the client and caregiver—but only when used correctly.

❌ Do NOT pull, tug, or haul on the lift straps to move someone faster.
❌ Do NOT use the lift for anything other than transferring a person.
❌ Do NOT exceed the lift's weight capacity.
❌ Do NOT rush the transfer process.
❌ Do NOT ignore unusual noises, jerking movements, or damaged straps.

✅ Follow the recommended sling and transfer procedures.
✅ Keep equipment maintained and inspected regularly.
✅ Ask for training if you're unsure how a lift operates.

🔴 When should you use the emergency stop button?

The red emergency stop button is designed for emergencies only, such as:
• Unexpected lift movement
• Equipment malfunction
• A situation where the user or caregiver could be at risk

Using the emergency stop unnecessarily can interrupt transfers and may require resetting the lift before use.

Rainy Day Reminder ☔🦆

The rain may be good for the ducks, but sidewalks, ramps, parking lots and store entrances can become VERY slippery for walkers and mobility equipment.

A few simple tips can make a big difference:

✔ Slow down on wet surfaces
✔ Wipe walker tips and wheels regularly
✔ Watch for wet tile floors at entrances
✔ Avoid carrying too many items in your hands
✔ Use bags or baskets attached to your walker instead
✔ Wear proper footwear with grip
✔ Make sure brakes are working properly before heading out

One of the biggest causes of slips? Trying to carry too much while using a walker. Your hands are there for balance and support first.
