Hey friends.
Just keeping everybody in the loop over here.
I had my follow-up with the surgical team and, apparently, my current training program is still DO NOTHING STUPID. 😂
Another week and a half of minimal movement, no bending, twisting or lifting.
So basically… I’m absolutely crushing this program. 😏
We’re still waiting to hear back from an orthopedic spine specialist who will take over my care here in Alberta to make sure all the fancy titanium hardware in my neck is staying exactly where it belongs.
And… I HAVE BEEN CLEARED TO WALK. 🙌🏼
So Lola and I took our first little wander around the block together.
I even laced up my red shoes — which just happen to be the shoes I was wearing the day of my accident. So apparently I’ve decided we’re facing triggers head-on over here. 😅
My cardio was… atrocious.
But my balance felt good, my legs felt strong, and the fresh air felt absolutely incredible.
It was one of those very simple moments that reminded me how much progress is happening, even when it feels painfully slow.
Also, I haven’t driven my truck in so long that the spiders have officially moved in.
I’m not even sure it’s my truck anymore. 😂
As for reopening the gym floor — I’m staying focused on all the positives, but I also want to be honest with you guys about my return to work.
I’m hopeful for an October 1st reopening, but I’m going to let my body and my medical team have the final say.
For now, I’m walking, healing, resting, laughing, and taking the wins where I can get them.
And hopefully evicting spiders soon— because I’d love a little more freedom with a set of wheels again.
Just wanted to touch base - and to say Thank you, as always, for all the love, patience and support. I cannot be more grateful for the way you all have shown up for me. I miss you guys like crazy and cannot wait to get back to doing what I love.
💗 see you soon
