🔴 Pre-exposure prophylaxis, commonly referred to as PrEP, is a medication regimen used in the prevention of HIV, and can be highly effective when taken consistently.

Hey friends, Alicia here! We’re finally getting a dose of summer so I wanted to hop on and share a new SPF fave of mine. Miranda and I discovered the .botanics sunscreen at the CHFA show last fall and I fell in love. Here’s why:
☀️ In addition to the active SPF components, the ingredients are actual skincare ingredients. So instead of just being a sunscreen, your skin is benefitting from ingredients that nourish, protect + hydrate (while not clogging pores!)

☀️It’s a natural formula that’s safe for us and the ocean - and is a great option for sensitive skin.

☀️ It’s available in SPF 30 and SPF 50 and has an unscented option as well as a coconut vanilla option (which is naturally derived and smells delicious)

🌱 Thank you for being part of our glass vial program! Your participation helps reduce waste and supports our commitment to sustainable pharmacy practices.

💚 To help keep the program running smoothly and ensure we have enough clean vials available for everyone, we kindly ask for your help with two things:

🟢 Return your vials at pickup: When you come to pick up your next prescription, please bring your empty glass vials with you and exchange them at that time. This helps us manage inventory and keep the program running efficiently.

🟢 Remove the labels before returning: Before bringing your vials back, please peel off the prescription labels. A little sticky residue left behind is perfectly fine! Removing labels ahead of time allows us to sanitize and prepare bottles for reuse much more quickly. When labels are left on, it can create delays and reduce the number of vials we have available for patients.

💚 We truly appreciate your help and cooperation. The success of our glass vial program depends on all of us working together, and we’re grateful for your support in making it possible!

✨ We’re excited to welcome Madelief van den Berg to our team! She’s been working with us part-time for the last few months. Read below to get to know more about her, and say hello next time you’re in! ✨

🌷 Born in Europe and shaped by life across three countries, Madelief arrived in Canada nearly five years ago with a deep appreciation for community, sustainability, and the small choices that add up to real change.

📚 She’s currently completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Dr. J.H. Gillis Regional High School and found her home at Teasdale Apothecary Co. because its mission of sustainability and compassionate care aligns with her values and her belief that healthcare should be as thoughtful as it is accessible.

💕 She is trilingual in Dutch, German and English and outside of the Apothecary, she’s a competitive dancer with APEX, an avid baker, and a devoted reader.

💊 Pharmacists in Nova Scotia can assess patients who have had a recent tick bite and prescribe treatment for lyme disease prevention and for those who are showing early signs of lyme disease (red rash after a tick bite).

Eligible patients for lyme disease prevention treatment include those who:
⚫️ had a black legged tick that was attached

⚫️ the tick was attached for more than 36 hours

⚫️ it has been less than 72 hours since they have removed the tick

Eligible patients for early lyme disease treatment include those who:
⚫️ had a tick bite and now have a red rash (with or without bulls eye appearance)
