Today, the Township of Brock raised the flag in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (June 15), a day dedicated to bringing attention to an often-hidden issue that affects millions of older adults around the world. Jennifer Josephson, Chair of the Durham Elder Abuse Network (DEAN) and Seniors and Community Health Worker at Brock CHC, was on hand to speak to the importance of valuing and supporting our seniors. The Region of Durham and DEAN will be co-hosting a WEEAD event on Monday, June 15 from 10am-noon at regional headquarters which will include the Tammy Rankin Legacy Award, honoring an organization or individual who is making a difference in the lives of older adults.
