This year I'm inviting you along on the journey of my Potager Garden!

Back in May, two wonderful students bartered their time and energy to help prepare the garden beds, and I couldn't be more grateful. Thanks to their hard work, the beds were ready for planting, and in early June I began sowing vege and flower seeds and planting out the garden.

My big brainwave for this season? A potato well! 🥔 It takes up far less space while still giving my beloved potatoes plenty of room to grow. I'm excited to see how it performs throughout the season.

I'll be sharing updates, successes, lessons learned, and plenty of garden photos and videos along the way. Watch for upcoming videos as the garden grows and unfolds through the summer!
What are you growing this year that you're most excited about? 🌱🥔

There’s something quietly magical happening in the garden right now—our sweetgrass is spreading, gently weaving its way through the beds, and we couldn’t be more delighted.

Sweetgrass has long been cherished across North America, especially within Indigenous traditions, where it’s braided and burned as a sacred medicine—used for prayer, purification, and calling in good energy. That soft, vanilla-like scent when it’s dried… it’s something truly special.

It’s a native plant here, though in some regions it’s becoming harder to find in the wild due to habitat loss. Growing and tending it with care feels like a small act of stewardship—something we’re honoured to do.

So yes… we’re celebrating this gentle spread. A quiet reminder that some of the most meaningful plants don’t rush—they root, they connect, and they stay.

There’s just something about a good herb pot 🌿

Snagged the sweetest strawberry-style planter at Richters and I’m in love—little pockets for all the herbs? Yes please.

Local plant lovers… are you grabbing one too? 👀

Our herb class was a whirlwind of learning, laughter, and hands-on herbal magic 🌿

This was our final class of the season—what a beautiful way to close out our spring gatherings. We’ll be pausing for the summer and will resume again in the fall. In the meantime, keep an eye here on social media as we’ll be announcing an upcoming herb walk soon 🌱

Together we explored the gentle rhythms of spring—how the body naturally wants to shift, lighten, and renew after winter. We focused on spring cleanses and mineral-rich tonics, and everyone got to prepare and take home practical herbal recipes to support their own daily rhythms.

Here are the recipes we worked with:

Spring Cleanse Tea
A gentle, nourishing spring support for liver, lymph, and digestion
• 1 part dandelion root
• 1 part burdock root
• 1 part nettle leaf
• 1/2 part cleavers

Preparation:
Simmer the roots for 10 minutes. Turn off heat, add nettle and cleavers, and steep 10–15 minutes. Strain and enjoy.
A gentle cleanse, not a harsh detox—supportive, steady, and mineral rich.

Mineral-Rich Spring Infusion
Deep nourishment for rebuilding after winter
• 1 part nettle
• 1/2 part oatstraw
• 1/2 part red clover

Preparation:
Pour 1 litre of boiling water over herbs. Steep 4–8 hours or overnight. Strain and drink throughout the day.
Optional: add lemon or honey.
A slow infusion that draws out deep minerals to restore vitality.

Each participant also went home with a sample of our tea blends and either a lymphatic tonic or a detox support blend to continue their herbal journey at home 🌿

A special thank you to Trish, who so generously shared and taught the herb of the month—your knowledge and presence added something truly special to the evening 💚

These are the kinds of gatherings we love most—simple, grounded, seasonal herbal medicine that reconnects us to the land, the plants, and ourselves.

See you in the fall ✨
And stay tuned for our upcoming herb walk announcement.

✨ Spring Cleanse, Tonics & Gentle Parasite Support ✨

As the earth begins to thaw and awaken, our bodies are also ready to shift out of winter’s heaviness. In this class, we’ll explore how to support that natural transition with herbs that gently cleanse, deeply nourish, and restore vitality.

Together, we’ll learn about:

·        Spring cleansing herbs that support the liver, lymph, and digestion

·        Mineral-rich tonics to rebuild and energize after winter

·        Traditional parasite herbs and how to use them with care and respect

·        Simple, effective herbal recipes you can bring into your daily rhythm

This will be a grounded and empowering evening for anyone wanting to reconnect with seasonal living and plant medicine in a practical way.

Bonus: Everyone will go home with a sample of a tonic prepared during class.
