Have you ever been genuinely excited about where you’re going, while another part of you seems just as determined to stop you?
It can feel like you’ve got one foot on the gas and the other firmly on the brake.
You’re taking action. You know what you want. Maybe things are even starting to work.
And yet, something keeps pulling you back.
I experienced this in my own business. Things were going well, but underneath the excitement was a belief I hadn’t consciously realized was there:
If things get too good, there’s farther to fall.
So there was a level of success that felt safe. Beyond that, my foot started pressing harder on the brake.
This kind of internal resistance can show up in your health, your relationships, your career or your business.
And this is where simply trying to change your behaviour often falls short.
Because if an old emotion or belief is driving the pattern unconsciously, more discipline, better habits and telling yourself to “just do it” don’t necessarily change what’s happening underneath.
I’m going live to talk about why this happens, what may actually be underneath that foot on the brake, and why sometimes the thing stopping you isn’t a lack of motivation at all.
