Your calendar is full of meetings you can’t miss. Add one more for yourself 📅🤍

Between work, family, and everything in between, your own health is usually the first thing to get bumped. That “I’ll book it next month” turns into next year, and meanwhile the fatigue, bloating, brain fog, and “off” days keep piling up.

Consider this your sign to put it on the calendar. A naturopathic checkup is a chance to ask why you feel the way you do, and to leave with a plan.

Menopause can affect far more than your menstrual cycle. 🤍

As estrogen levels decline, women may experience hot flashes, disrupted sleep, changes in bone density and other symptoms that impact everyday life.

Menopausal hormone therapy can help relieve certain symptoms and support long-term health, including bone protection. The right approach depends on your symptoms, medical history and individual needs.

✨ Menopause is SMRT Health’s focus this month, and we believe understanding your options is the first step toward making informed decisions about your hormonal health. Speak with your healthcare provider to find out whether estrogen therapy may be appropriate for you.

Inflammation 101: what it is, what drives it, and how to calm it 🔥

Inflammation is your body’s natural defense system, and in the short term it’s a good thing. The problem starts when it never switches off. Chronic, low-grade inflammation can show up as fatigue, bloating, joint stiffness, brain fog, skin flare-ups, or just feeling “off” without a clear reason.

What can keep it going:
🍬 Blood sugar swings
🍟 Ultra-processed foods
🦠 Gut imbalance
😰 Chronic stress
😴 Poor sleep
🪑 Too little movement
🥦 Nutrient gaps

And what helps calm it:
🥗 Eat the rainbow
🐟 Add omega-3s
🌾 Prioritize fibre and protein
⏱️ Give your gut a break
🧘‍♀️ Build in stress resets
🚶‍♀️ Move daily

Small, consistent habits add up more than people realize 🤍

If your symptoms keep showing up and you’re not sure why, it’s worth looking deeper. Book a visit with Dr. Stacey at SMRT Health and we’ll help you get tested, not guessed. Link in bio 👆

Save this for later and send it to someone who’s been feeling “off” lately.

MENOPAUSE IS SURROUNDED BY MYTHS, AND SOME COULD BE KEEPING YOU FROM GETTING THE SUPPORT YOU NEED.

But here’s what every woman deserves to know: you don’t have to navigate these changes without support. 🤍

Understanding what’s happening in your body is the first step toward making informed decisions about your health, exploring your options, and finding an approach that works for you.

✨ How many of these 8 misconceptions have you heard before? Save this post and share it with a woman who needs to see it!

INSIDE YOUR BODY: 2-WEEK FAST 🔬

The real changes happening in your gut, cells & fat stores, backed by science, not guesswork.

Here’s what’s actually true, and what’s just internet myth:

🩸 Insulin & fat-burning: Fasting doesn’t “damage” your metabolism. Research shows short-term fasting actually improves insulin sensitivity, not the opposite.

🦠 Gut microbiome: Fasting isn’t “starving” your gut bacteria - it’s giving the beneficial strains room to thrive.

♻️ Cellular repair (autophagy): You don’t need to fast for days at a time to get the benefits. Autophagy begins within hours of each fasting window.

🧠 Energy & mental clarity: The “hangry, foggy” feeling is usually just temporary adjustment, not a sign fasting isn’t working for you.

🍽️ Hunger hormones: Fasting doesn’t mean fighting hunger the whole time. Your hunger signals actually adjust to your new schedule.

💪 Fat cells & body composition: You won’t lose muscle from a guided 2-week protocol. Properly structured fasting prioritizes fat stores for fuel, not muscle.

Two weeks is enough time for your body to genuinely adapt - not just restrict. Swipe through to see exactly what’s happening system by system 👆

Ready to see what your body can actually do? Our 2-Week Fat Burner Intermittent Fasting Challenge is guided, structured, and built for real results - not guesswork. Link in bio to join 🤍

Breaking an extended fast isn’t the time to rush into a big meal. It’s about gradually reintroducing food and giving your body time to adjust.

In Part 2, Dr. Stacey covers the final two stages:

🥦 3. Add fibre
Leafy greens, cucumber, radishes, or steamed vegetables can provide fibre to support the gut bacteria you’ve just reintroduced. If raw vegetables tend to make you bloated, cooked vegetables may be a gentler option.

🐟 4. Add protein
Protein supports recovery and helps provide the building blocks your body needs after an extended fast. Dr. Stacey chose fish as her protein source because she finds it lighter and easier to digest.

The key? Give each stage time.
Dr. Stacey recommends waiting 30–60 minutes between each reintroduction:

Bone broth → fermented food → vegetables → protein.

⚠️ This four-step approach is specifically discussing extended fasting beyond 24 hours, which isn’t appropriate for everyone. If you’re considering an extended fast, speak with a qualified healthcare professional first.

And if you’re interested in learning how to approach fasting more strategically, Dr. Stacey’s 2-Week Fat Burner Challenge starts October 13. 🤍

Breaking a longer fast requires just as much thought as the fast itself.

After fasting for more than 24 hours, Dr. Stacey recommends being intentional about how you reintroduce food rather than going straight into a large meal.

In Part 1, she covers the first two steps:

🥣 1. Start with bone broth
A gentle way to begin reintroducing nourishment after an extended fast.

🥬 2. Add fermented foods
Dr. Stacey uses kimchi, but sauerkraut and other fermented foods can also be options for introducing beneficial microorganisms into the diet.

And this is only the beginning. Part 2 will cover the next stages of breaking an extended fast.

⚠️ Extended fasting is not appropriate for everyone. If you’re considering a fast longer than 24 hours, speak with a qualified healthcare professional first to determine whether it’s appropriate for you.

And if you’ve been curious about how to fast safely and strategically as a woman, Dr. Stacey’s 2-Week Fat Burner Challenge starts October 13.

What if your cravings aren’t your fault? 👀

Sometimes, cravings aren’t about a lack of willpower. Stress can influence cortisol, appetite, energy, and our desire for quick sources of fuel like sugar, carbs, and caffeine.

And when you’re constantly busy, skipping meals, under-eating, and relying on caffeine to get through the day, you may be adding even more stress to the system.

Instead of asking, “Why can’t I control myself?” try asking:

“What might be driving these cravings?”

Supporting regular meals, adequate protein, balanced blood sugar, less reliance on caffeine, and calming practices can all be part of creating a more supportive routine. 🤍

This is also why how you approach fasting matters. Dr. Stacey’s upcoming 2-Week Fat Burner Fasting Challenge is designed to teach you how to approach fasting strategically, rather than simply eating less and hoping for the best.

✨ Starts October 13
