This is the story of a dog which was brought to the shelter in August 2022.
He was traumatised, fearful, got bullied by his siblings, also needed support with interaction with shelter staff.
It was around 1 week after the start of the Flower Essence application that I got a message from the shelter, the dog ran to his caregiver, licked her hand and ran away again.
After this, he made progress every day, was ok with people being in the same room but still sure about being petted.
By October he took feed from the caregivers hand and could be scratched under the chin. He still didn't trust his caregiver enough that she could put a leash on him.
He received a second Flower Essence blend for helping him enjoy being petted, help him overcome negative experiences and trauma.
Another month later, the loop leash wasn't a problem to put on but the collar still was. He nipped, growled and ran away.
The dog got another Flower Essence mix to help him trust the caregiver and for more self-confidence.
By March 2023, the staff was able to put a loop leash on the dog and walk around with him. He was still scared and very leery of people. We made another blend to support him in these issues.
This dog's story illustrates how flower essences work. Sometimes, more than just a single blend is needed to help an animal settle into a new environment or cope with a stressful situation.
Flower essence blends can be individually tailored to address a wide range of ailments or issues.
