FUNDRAISING FOR A CAUSE “CLOSE TO OUR HEART”!

One of our most valued people here at the Legion has been the most resilient people fighting through cancer not once, not twice, but three times. She has endured multiple surgeries, chemo and radiation to come out the other side and continue to be her amazing positive self.

Unfortunately one of those cancers has reared its ugly head AGAIN.

Fortunately it’s caught really early but she will have to have something removed to make sure it doesn’t progress to something that causes more problems. Having done this once before she has decided to remove the entire breast to make sure there is nowhere for it to pop up again.

Corrina is the most glass half full person who finds the good in the bad every time. During her initial appointments she was treated with such grace and respect thanks to “Support the Girls” initiative, being given a comfy robe, a comforting space to wait in and the greatest of care. This cause also does so much more to help those locally in our community that are going through the various stages of breast cancer to support the patients and their families.

This all led to the idea of giving back (Corrina finding the good!) and helping her get ready for the next steps in her cancer journey.

Say Bye to the B**b will be a fun night in support of a great cause, working together to make a difference in our community! Please join us for an evening of fun and camaraderie!

Each year, we invite local women in our community to the stage to share the stories of their personal journeys through breast cancer.💗

By sharing the raw truth about topics rarely discussed, we hope to spread insights and inspiration while holding space and celebrating the courage and vulnerability of the strong women sharing their stories.

Last year, we had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Capon and Marianne Hartman- We cannot thank you enough for your bravery in sharing.💞

For the last 7 years, our incredible peace country community has come together to Support The Girls and raise money that directly supports breast cancer fighters and survivors in our community. 🩷

As we begin the preparations for year 8, we wanted to thank each and every person who has attended, donated or sponsored these fundraisers. All funds raised are a direct result of your continued generosity. 💞
