✨ Now that the ownership announcement is out in the world, it feels like the perfect time to properly introduce myself.
For those who are newer to Rooted Heart, my name is Dani Tarini.
I've spent more than 20 years working in health and wellness and over a decade teaching yoga. Along the way, I've had the privilege of teaching thousands of classes, leading teacher trainings, mentoring students, co-founding a yoga studio in Ontario, and creating spaces where people could slow down, reconnect, and remember themselves.
What many people don't know is that after years of teaching, leading, and building community, life asked me to slow down and turn inward for a while; and I stepped away from yoga.
It became a season of significant healing, and for a while I wasn't sure what my relationship with this work would look like moving forward. What I did know was that I needed the space to become a student again, not just of yoga, but of myself.
Because if there's one thing I believe, it's that we are never done learning.
No matter how many trainings I take, certifications I earn, classes I teach, or books I read, I will always be a student first. If you know me, you also know there's a very good chance I'm currently signed up for another training somewhere. At the moment, I think it's three.
Outside the studio, I'm a mom to six teenagers, so there is rarely a dull moment. Life is busy, beautiful, sometimes chaotic, and always teaching me something. More than anything, it's a daily reminder that healing, growth, and connection don't happen when life slows down. They happen right in the middle of it.
That curiosity, humility, and willingness to keep learning continues to shape how I teach, how I lead, and how I move through the world.
When I joined Rooted Heart last year, I wasn't looking to become an owner. I was simply following a quiet pull back toward something that had always felt like home.
When we made the decision to move to Grande Prairie, one of the first things I did was start researching yoga studios. There was something about the community Shelley was building at Rooted Heart that immediately resonated with me. It reminded me of the kinds of spaces I believed in creating and had spent years helping to build. Spaces where people could show up exactly as they are.
What I didn't expect was how much this community would come to mean to me. I came in with some pretty strong boundaries around what I was willing to take on. Looking back now, there is a certain irony in that, considering where this journey eventually led.
Over the last year, I've had the privilege of getting to know Shelley not only as a studio owner, but as a teacher, mentor, and friend. Her willingness to trust her intuition, take a chance on me, and invite me into this journey while I was still relatively new to her is something I deeply admire. It takes courage to trust what you see in someone, and I will always be grateful that she did.
Today, I feel incredibly grateful to continue serving this community, now in a new role as co-owner.
You'll find me teaching classes, leading workshops, guiding Yoga Nidra and nervous system-focused experiences, and supporting people, especially those who are used to carrying a lot, as they learn to slow down and return to themselves.
Whether you've taken one class with me or many, trusted me to guide you through a practice, attended a workshop, or simply shared a conversation after class, thank you.
It is an honour to walk alongside you, and I am excited for what we will continue to create and build together in the years ahead.
With gratitude,
Dani ❤️
