Post partum sitz baths help tone stretched tissue, soothe soreness, inflammation and support overall healing all while taking a moment to reconnect with yourself πŸ’œ

Post partum sitz bath recipe:

⭐️ Calendula
⭐️ Lavender
⭐️ Yarrow
⭐️ Red Raspberry Leaf
⭐️ Plantain Leaf
⭐️ Lady's mantle
⭐️ Epsom Salt

Use 1 cup and place in a bowl, add boiling water and let steep. Strain and add to your bath. Soak for 20 minutes.

Some of these are optional, there are many of these flowers and plants that you can find right in your back yard!

Take a moment and see what ones you can find?

WHAT A CROP! Haha jk

🐸 However, I got to preserving some chives this morning! Ill see how it turns out πŸ€”

I was thinking of a project for a geranium and sage body butter... since both of these gems are great for skin πŸ…

Geranium makes your skin glow (seriously, I often get compliments after bathing in it) and helps all kind of skin issues like acne causing bacteria, oil production AND signs of aging. Its also great for menopause and emotional support.

Sage on the other hand is warm and drying, its a bitter and astringent, which means it tightens tissue.. WHICH GOT ME THINKING! Wouldnt that be good for tightening loose skin?

Yes, but not if youre breast feeding 🀧

Sage expells excess moisture, which is great for night sweats, hot flashes buuut it will also dry up your milk supply ...

Soooo, I guess ill have to wait a while before testing my theory πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

Oh well.

πŸ† I also got around to FINALLY grinding the yarrow - ill likely be making a sitz bath for post partum recovery. Yarrow helps stop bleeding, soothes and heals inflammation, cuts and pelvic discomfort πŸ€—

What a beautiful morning its been!

Enjoy yourself a slow Sunday everybody! πŸ˜πŸ’•

Preparing my birthing pack πŸ₯°

I spent the day soaking in my favorite Herbal Pregnancy Guide and it felt empowering to get to choose everything I wanted to support my journey into labor 🐝

The perineal oil is used at 37 weeks onwards to assist elasticity and suppleness but also provides an opportunity for emotional preperation, relaxation, trust and familiarity.

You can use the infused oils of Marigold, St-johns Wort or Chamomile (luckily I still had last years batch for 2 of the aforementioned πŸ™Œ) or simply use Almond oil (olive oil works too!)

Adding the essential oil of either Roman Chamomile, Lavender or Geranium at a 1% dilution.

Second, I prepared a relaxation oil which will assist for labor. touch and massage can bring amazing relief and adding oils such as Rose, Geranium and chamomile can assist the contractions in being more efficient.

If labor is stalling or I wish to speed up the process, ill be adding Clary Sage to stimulate contractions. It also blends well with chamomile for back pain, while frankincense is an alternative oil to enhance uterine tone and reduce anxiety.

You may also add 5 drops of Clary Sage into 20ml of ACV (Apple cider vin.) And add it to a warm bath to encourage smooth contractions and assist in opening the cervix.

There are so many options to choose from with more to be added πŸ’•πŸž

Absolutely inlove with this book "The Herbalists Guide to oregnancy, childbirth and Beyond" by Carole Guyett.
