Fear has a funny way of convincing us to stay exactly where we are.

It whispers:
❌ “What if you fail?”
❌ “What if you’re not ready?”
❌ “What if it doesn’t work out?”

But here’s what I’ve learned:

The women who create the lives they truly want aren’t fearless.

They start the business while feeling uncertain.
They have the difficult conversation while feeling nervous.
They speak up while their voice is shaking.
They take the next step before they have all the answers.

Fear isn’t proof that you’re on the wrong path.

Often, it’s a sign you’re standing at the edge of growth.

The goal isn’t to eliminate fear.
The goal is to trust yourself enough to keep moving forward anyway.

So today, ask yourself:

✨ What is one thing fear has been talking you out of?

Then take one small step toward it.

I’d love to hear your answer below. ❤️

Save this for the next time fear tries to convince you that you can’t.

My community email today included a simple challenge:

24 hours.
No complaining. 🎯

And I’ve delighted to have several women reply:
“Yes, I’m in!”

The challenge isn’t about being positive all the time.
It’s about awareness.

You see, this week, while travelling for work, Jim and I checked into a hotel.

My first instinct?

To complain.
The hotel wasn’t exactly what I expected.

Then I caught myself.

Because a few years ago, I would have been thrilled to be here.

✨Travelling with my husband.
✨Doing work we love.
✨Meeting with clients in person.
✨Spending time with family. 🤍

And suddenly I realized:
I was complaining about a life I once dreamed of.

Ouch. 🙈

How often do we do that?

We get the thing we wanted…
And then focus on what’s wrong with it.

The promotion.
The relationship.
The house.
The opportunity.

What if our gratitude just hasn’t caught up yet?

So here’s your challenge:
For the next 24 hours, notice every complaint.

Not with judgment.
With curiosity.

Then ask yourself:
“What could I be grateful for right now?”

Tag… you’re it. 😊
Are you in?

My heart is full. ❤️

Lunch with two former clients and Joy Club members today.

Years later, the friendships remain—and that might just be one of the greatest gifts Joy Club ever gave me. ✨

What a fantastic day at the Greater Langley Chamber Golf Tournament! ⛳

This year, we hosted a hole we affectionately called the Business Masters, showcasing some of the incredible entrepreneurs who are part of Jim’s Solopreneur Coaching Hub.

🏆 Jim Shopland — Strategy Master
🏆 Laurie Shopland — Mindset Master
🏆 Lisa Simonsen — Brand Master
🏆 Mitchell Nurse — Video Master
🏆 Derek Burbridge — Style Master

We may not have improved anyone’s golf swing, but we had a lot of fun connecting with local business leaders, sharing what we do, and celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit that makes Langley such a vibrant community.

A special thank you to everyone who stopped by our hole, entered our draw, shared a laugh, and made the day so enjoyable.

And thank you to the for once again hosting an outstanding event that brings our business community together in such a meaningful way.

Here’s to collaboration, connection, and supporting local businesses.

Have you ever stopped long enough to realize you’re living a life you once dreamed about?

As we head to Kelowna today for Jim’s coaching conference, I found myself reflecting.

Tomorrow, I’ll meet with a client in person. 🤍

I’ll have lunch with two women I coached years ago through Joy Club. 🥰

I’ll share tea with my niece. ❤️

And suddenly, it hit me...

Years ago, this is exactly the kind of life I hoped for.

The freedom to work from anywhere.

Meaningful conversations that matter.

Time with people I love.

The ability to create memories while doing work that fills my heart.

Yet how often do we keep chasing the next thing without noticing what is already here?

I felt a gentle reminder today:

Pause.

Look around.

Take it in.

Because sometimes the life we’re working so hard to create is already unfolding right in front of us.

That doesn’t mean we stop dreaming or growing.

It simply means we don’t miss the beauty of what we’ve already built while we’re reaching for what’s next.

✨ What is one thing in your life today that you once wished for?

Not every boundary is healthy.

Sometimes…
it’s fear wearing a very convincing disguise.

I recently had an opportunity to sit on an executive board and my immediate reaction was:
“Nope. Too much. I need to protect my time.”

And listen — boundaries matter.
Protecting your peace matters.

But this one didn’t feel true.

So instead of immediately saying no, I paused and asked myself:
“Do I actually like my reason?”

That question changed everything.

Because underneath the boundary…
was fear.

Fear that I wasn’t qualified enough.
Fear that I wasn’t worthy enough.
Fear that I might not belong in that room.

And for me, that’s always a clue.

A clue that I may be lying to myself about who I am and what I’m capable of.

So I said yes.

Not because it was comfortable.
But because I no longer want fear making my decisions for me.

The next time you feel yourself pulling back, hiding, or saying no…
pause long enough to ask:

Is this boundary protecting my peace?
Or is it protecting my fear?

I dive deeper into this in my Wednesday well-being email this week.

Message me “BOUNDARIES” and I’ll send it to you.

Burnout doesn’t usually happen overnight.

It happens slowly…when we keep pushing through exhaustion,
ignoring what we need,
and convincing ourselves that rest can wait.

But your body always keeps score.

The good news?
Burnout is not a badge of honour.
It’s information.

An invitation to pause.
To pay attention.
To come back to yourself before life forces you to.

You do not have to earn rest.
You do not have to explain your boundaries.
And you certainly don’t have to do it all, all the time.

If this post feels a little too familiar, maybe this is your reminder to take one small breath, one small break, or one small step back toward yourself today.

You matter.
Your well-being matters.

So many people lately are casually saying:
“I feel like I’m on the verge of burnout.”

But what if burnout isn’t the problem…
What if it’s the indicator?

Like the cherry on top of an emotional sundae 🍒

Stress.
Overwhelm.
Pressure.
People pleasing.
Pushing through.
Ignoring what we truly need.

It all piles up.

The good news?
Burnout is not a sign that you’re failing.
It’s awareness inviting you to pay attention.

To pause.
To breathe.
To check in with yourself instead of continuing to override yourself.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop asking,
“What else do I need to get done?”
and start asking,
“What do I need right now?”

One small layer at a time changes everything.

What are we doing to the next generation?

Last night I spoke to a room full of young adults, ages between 18–32, and while I was so encouraged by their creativity and thoughtfulness… I also noticed something else.

Almost every conversation carried this low hum of anxiety.

Not enough time.
Too much to do.
Fear about the future.
Second-guessing themselves.

And I thought:

They didn’t create this on their own.

They absorbed it from us.

From generations who normalized stress, overwhelm, hurry, and emotional exhaustion.

No shame.
No blame.

Just awareness.

Because awareness gives us the opportunity to change.

Maybe it’s time we start paying attention to the words we speak every day.

“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I’m behind.”
“I don’t have enough time.”

What if we started finishing those statements with:

“…and I can handle this”
“…and I’ll figure it out.”

The next generation needs more than advice from us.

They need a different example. 💫

More peace.
More presence.
More emotional well-being.

Because they deserve better.
And I believe we can do better. ❤️
