Some tattoo myths needs to be debunked because they honestly are soooo far from reality it makes me want to pull my hair every day. 🤧

1) pain is subjective and varies depending on the placement, the duration and your artist’s technic . Tattoo pain is often described as a manageable discomfort similar to scratching or a sun burn.

2) There is no medical proof to support that tattoos can be a cause of skin cancer. HOWEVER, if not done carefully tattoos could cover up moles and beauty spots, making it difficult for your doctor to check for warning signs of cancer.

3) Both coconut oil and Vaseline are too heavy for tattoos as they might clog your pores, slow down the healing process and increase risk of infection. An unscented light pharmaceutical cream will always be a better option.

4) Tattoos do not make your blood impure and won’t stop you from becoming a liable donor. HOWEVER, it is often required to wait 6 to 12 months after getting tattooed before donating.

5) Scars can be tattooed and covered up if they are fully healed ( about 1-2 years). Make sure to discuss it with your artist before the appointment.
