🫶There are moments during difficult times when people remind you what community actually means. 💞

What Colleen created through Purses and Playlist was far more than an event. It was an act of belief — belief in the people we support, belief in inclusion, and belief that adults with developmental disabilities deserve opportunity, dignity, connection, and a place to belong in their community. 🥰

👥People do not have to help simply because they can. People who are fortunate, connected, influential, or financially secure are never obligated to step forward. That is what makes Colleen’s generosity and leadership so meaningful. She chose to act when it would have been easier not to. And because of that choice, something extraordinary happened.👏

The $23,000 💸 that was raised at this event is not just a number to us. It represents stability, hope, and the ability to keep moving forward during a time that has been incredibly uncertain for our organization and the adults and caregivers who rely on it.👨‍🦼‍➡️🧑‍🦯

⌚️⌚️At the same time, there is a difficult truth underneath all of this. Community generosity should be helping programs like PADDLE grow, innovate, and create more opportunities for people — not simply helping us survive basic operating pressures like rent, utilities, and core costs that essential developmental services should not be struggling to cover in the first place. 🧠

🕧This support gave us breathing room. It gave people hope. We needed that because we are running out of time. ⏰We are hopeful it reminded all of the people in that room what can happen when someone decides that standing by quietly is not enough.💥

💞💞Thank you will never feel large enough, but please know how deeply meaningful this was to our entire PADDLE community. Thank you Colleen. 😘Colleen Caruso’s Purses & Playlists
