👩🦰👱♂️Many people are also in Ontario Hospitals for years upon years not needing medical care. 🏥
In North Bay, as per the Ontario Hospital Interprovincial Per Diem Rates for Inpatient Services it is $1500 plus for ONE NIGHT. 💰💰💸💸💸💸
But programs and homes that support people to remain active in their community are too expensive. 🏠♿️👨🦼➡️
The provincial policies cannot change because they are “accountable to the taxpayer”.

🧮 Make the math make sense➗➕
More than 10,000 adults with an intellectual disability are living in nursing homes—not because they need to be there, but because accessible, affordable housing and the supports they need to live in community are too often out of reach.
This is a housing issue.
It’s an inclusion issue.
And it’s an issue of human rights.
Inclusion Canada believes everyone has the right to live in a home of their own, in a community of their choosing, with the supports they need to live a full and inclusive life.
We need housing solutions that include people with intellectual disabilities, not systems that leave them behind.
