Things about gut health I REALLY wish I knew sooner 👇🏼
It doesn’t matter nearly as much WHAT foods you’re sensitive to as it does WHY your body is reacting to them in the first place.
Cutting out more and more foods might make you feel better temporarily, but it doesn’t necessarily address what’s making your gut so reactive.
Probiotics also aren’t automatically good for everyone. The wrong strains or products for what’s actually happening in your gut can leave you feeling even more bloated or uncomfortable.
And being told you have IBS doesn’t explain WHY you’re experiencing those symptoms. Things like bacterial imbalances, altered gut motility and digestive dysfunction can all contribute to an IBS picture.
For YEARS I thought my stomach simply couldn’t handle dairy or gluten.
But once I started working on what was actually happening in my gut, I realized the foods weren’t necessarily the entire problem, my gut environment was influencing how I reacted to them.
This is why I’m so big on asking WHY.
Why are you bloated?
Why are you constipated?
Why are you suddenly reacting to foods?
Why does everything you eat seem to upset your stomach?
Your symptoms are information. Stop only removing foods and start looking at what could be driving the reactions in the first place.
