Our Kelowna team had an awesome time taking part in the annual On the Lawn, lawn bowling tournament! 🎳☀️

We were excited to have a CTC team out on the grass for a fun evening in support of Elevation Outdoors | Youth Outdoor Sports Programs and the incredible work they do in our community.

Always a great time getting together as a team and supporting a great cause!

Meet our Nanaimo Office!

Our Nanaimo team includes Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, and Counselling services, supporting clients in the office and out in the community.

Featured today are Maia and Bethany!

Maia completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Alberta. Her admiration for Occupational Therapy stemmed from the profession’s knack for merging the arts and sciences. Her approach is to instill hope in her clients’ development of meaning-based goals.

Bethany obtained her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia. She was drawn towards the holistic nature of Occupational Therapy and provides warm, client-centered care. She is currently working with pediatric clients serving the Nanaimo area!

What are the views like on a rural occupational therapy road trip?

Incredible! These are some beautiful shots Pascale took on her trip for some home accessibility renovation assessments for a provincial funder. Pascale got to help individuals in a remote community, and have a change of scenery from her day to day work.

Finding or returning to work can be part of occupational therapy, but OTs have a much bigger job description than that.

They can also support people with concussion recovery, daily routines, sensory processing, emotional regulation, fatigue management, fine motor skills, school participation, accessibility, independence, driving, and getting back to the activities that bring them joy and a sense of purpose.

In other words, OTs help people participate more fully in everyday life, whatever that looks like for them.

“Hello! My name is Erika Manarin. I currently live and work in Williams Lake BC – originally from Grand Forks BC. I have 9-year old twins – Clark & Makenna and 4 bonus daughters with my current partner Darcy. I have worked as an OT for 14.5 years now, from pediatrics to long term care, all rural practice. Beyond OT, I enjoy playing competitive slo-pitch with my partner, spending time with my kid’s exploring nature and/or coaching their sports or playing in the garden.”
