Please join us in welcoming Amé van Zyl to our Kelowna CTC team. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the knowledge, energy, and perspective she brings to the team.
“Hello Everyone! My name is Amé (she/her), pronounced like “amazing” but without the “zing”, and I am so excited to be working
with this team! Everyone I have met so far is so forward thinking, proactive and invested in both our client outcomes and professional development of the staff!
I am of South African origin and my family
immigrated to Canada when I was very young. I grew up in Kamloops, BC and spent much of my childhood involved in sports, especially Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. I performed internationally and continued in the sport as a coach after high school. I have now coached gymnastics for over 9 years, working with a wide range of ages, levels,
and abilities. Driven by a passion for exercise science and rehabilitation following a serious knee injury in 2016, I moved to Kelowna in 2020 to
complete my Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBCO. Since graduating in 2024, I have obtained my BCAK Kinesiology registration and CSEPCEP certification, and I am excited to continue building my experience. I am especially interested in supporting women/feminine presenting
persons in athletics, sport performance, aging, and clinical populations.
Outside of work, I enjoy gym time, running, summer sunshine, EDM music, nature documentaries, discovering great food spots, and cozying up with a good show or movie and a massive bowl of popcorn in the wintertime. I am very eager to learn more from all the practitioners on this team and get skilled at applying the knowledge I have gained thus far.”
