Happy Fridayโ˜€๏ธ

Todayโ€™s been one of those days that just fills my heart right up. A full day of meeting new patients and helping people begin their foot health journey โ€” truly such a rewarding feeling.

Alsoโ€ฆ medical supply orders arriving at the clinic? Instant serotonin(yes, please!) It honestly feels like Christmas to me. Every little thing that comes in helps make my space feel more welcoming, supportive, and comfortable for you as my patient. I want everyone who walks through my door to feel seen, cared for, and at home here.

Back in May I held a Foot Health Information Session, and everyone who attended was entered into a draw as a thank you for coming. With continuing education, advancing skills, and life being wonderfully busy lately, Iโ€™m a little behind sharing โ€” but our winner officially received their thank you gift card today(confidentiality inserted!)

Since posting about my limited availability, Iโ€™ve had so many people reaching out, and Iโ€™m incredibly grateful. If youโ€™ve been thinking about booking, donโ€™t wait too long to claim your spot in the patient chair!

Itโ€™s Friday, the sun is shining, and my heart is just FULL of gratitude today (and every day). Some days things just align a little extra, and today feels like one of those days.

Thank you SO much to every single person who chooses me and trusts me with their care โ€” it truly means the world to me ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

And to end my Friday on an emotional note ๐Ÿฅนโ€ฆ while heading out for school drop-off this morning, my daughter asked:
โ€œDo you think I could go to work with you someday to your office space, Mom? I might want to be a Nurse instead of a Teacher yetโ€ฆ and thereโ€™s a pause โ€ฆ or maybe even a fishergirl!

Cue the heart melt!

Lifeโ€™s opportunities are so endless and precious. I hope we all remember that โ€” I hope today gives you something that fills your heart the way today is filling mine ๐Ÿ’

Kinesiology Tape provides support for several days at a time, making regular reassessment an important part of treatment.

๐—™๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ผ๐˜„-๐˜‚๐—ฝ appointments allow for evaluation of:

โ€ข Pain reduction and symptom improvement
โ€ข Morning heel pain
โ€ข Walking tolerance and daily activity levels
โ€ข Inflammation and tissue response
โ€ข Skin tolerance to the tape
โ€ข Proper application technique if self-taping at home(this is the ultimate goal from this package!)

These visits also allow adjustments to taping methods as your condition improves and your needs change.

โ€ข Stretching and mobility exercises

Plantar Fascia โ€“ What Is It?

The plantar fascia is a thick band of connective tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot, connecting your heel bone to your toes. It acts as a supportive arch for your foot, helping absorb shock and provide stability when you walk, run, or stand.

โธป

Plantar Fasciitis โ€“ What Is It?

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It occurs when the plantar fascia becomes irritated or inflamed due to:

โ€ข Overuse or repetitive strain
โ€ข Improper footwear
โ€ข Prolonged standing or walking
โ€ข Changes in activity levels
โ€ข Foot structure and mechanics

Many people describe the pain as a sharp, stabbing sensation in the heel, especially with their first steps in the morning or after periods of rest.

โธป

What Is K-Tape & How Can It Help?

Kinesiology Tape (K-Tape) is a specialized elastic therapeutic tape applied to the skin to support muscles, tendons, and ligaments without restricting movement.

When used as part of a plantar fasciitis treatment plan, K-Tape may:

โœ“ Help reduce strain on the plantar fascia
โœ“ Provide support to the arch of the foot
โœ“ Improve circulation and lymphatic drainage
โœ“ Reduce pain and discomfort during daily activities
โœ“ Promote proper foot mechanics and movement

K-Tape is often used alongside stretching exercises, supportive footwear, orthotics, and activity modifications for optimal results.

โธป

How Can I Help?

As your Foot Care Nurse, I have obtained the education and hands-on training required to assess and apply Kinesiology Tape as part of a treatment plan for plantar fasciitis.

K-Taping can be an effective, non-invasive option to help:

โœ“ Manage pain and discomfort
โœ“ Support the plantar fascia during healing
โœ“ Improve foot function and mobility
โœ“ Promote comfort during everyday activities

If youโ€™re experiencing heel pain or symptoms of plantar fasciitis, I would be happy to discuss whether K-Taping may be a suitable option for you โ€” together we can support your journey back to comfortable movement.

If youโ€™ve been following along and have been waiting for the right time to reach out for Nursing Foot Care, this is your sign not to wait any longer.

I currently have very limited availability remaining for June, and Iโ€™d love to help those who have been meaning to book their initial appointment.

June Availability:
โ€ข June 17 & 18 โ€“ Partial afternoon availability
โ€ข June 25 โ€“ Mid-morning through afternoon availability

These openings have become available due to changes in some routine patient care schedules, allowing me to offer a few earlier appointment times.

If youโ€™re reaching out for your initial visit, please allow approximately 1.5 hours for your appointment.

As each available day in June passes, scheduling quickly rolls into the next 4โ€“6 weeks, which means July becomes very limited as well. My schedule is currently booking well into the fall, and I already have some clients scheduling appointments into the new year.

Please donโ€™t wait if one of these dates works for you. Once these openings are filled and I complete my current scheduling rollover, I may need to make the difficult decision to temporarily close my books to new clients due to capacity.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing me as your Foot Care Nurse. Your trust means more to me than words can express. Every single day, I wake up genuinely grateful for the opportunity to do this work. There is never a moment of hesitation when it comes to caring for my clients because I truly love what I do. Being welcomed into your homes, welcoming you into my space, hearing your stories, and helping you stay comfortable, mobile, and confident is an absolute privilege.

Thank you for supporting my small business, for referring your family and friends, and for allowing me to be part of your care journey. I am endlessly grateful for each and every one of you. โค๏ธ

05/19/2026

Ending a close to a 12-hour day on the road, my process still looks exactly the same. No shortcuts. No cutting corners. From being behind at the beginning of the day, to finally getting a moment to pause and breathe (yes โ€” there are absolutely days in where even taking a breather doesnโ€™t feel possible, all my days donโ€™t always go as planned), BUT, the standard never changes.

The day still ends back at the office running biological tests, checking every parameter, and ensuring every instrument is processed properly and safely โ€” because patient safety will always be my top priority.

How I process isnโ€™t just routineโ€ฆ itโ€™s the gold standard. Sterilization, consistency, accountability, and attention to detail matter just as much at the end of a long day as they do at the beginning. My patients trust me with their care, and thatโ€™s something I never take lightly.

Somewhere in between patients today, I was finally able to pause long enough to catch the last inning and a half of the Pugwash Panthers softball game โ€” and honestly, that small moment meant more than I realized. A reminder that even during the busiest, most demanding days, itโ€™s important to breathe for a second and take in the little things(that was once me out in a fieldโ€” flashbacks!)

And then thereโ€™s the sky.
At the end of evenings like this, especially after a late office close, I always look up. Itโ€™s become a habit โ€” a quiet moment to breathe, reflect on the day, and take in everything it held. Every single time, Iโ€™m humbled.

Today especially reminded me why healthcare is such a calling. I had one patient experience today that made me miss bedside Nursingโ€ฆ and then another that instantly brought me right back to the reasons why becoming a Footcare Nurse was exactly where Iโ€™m meant to be ๐Ÿฅฐ

Iโ€™m beyond blessed to do what I love every single day. To care for patients who trust me, support me, and keep me busy enough that 12-hour shifts have become part of the normal rotation โ€” thatโ€™s something Iโ€™ll never take for granted.

At the end of it all โ€” the long days, the late evenings, the nonstop schedule, and tired feet โ€” I still leave grateful. Grateful that this is my purpose. Grateful that I get to care for people in such a meaningful way. And grateful that no matter how exhausting the day may feel, I can go home knowing I gave my patients the very best of me โ™ฅ๏ธ

Holiday or not, this Nurse was up and at it in the office this morning refreshing, resetting, and prepping for the week ahead โ€” a task that honestly never ends!

A Monday well spent sets the tone for a great week of content, because at the end of the day, patient safety will always be my number one priority.

And honestlyโ€ฆ you know you truly love what you do when even the behind-the-scenes work brings you pure bliss and joy. Of course, a sunny Monday helps too!

Happy Monday, friends. Enjoy this beautiful sunshine โ˜€๏ธ โ€” this entire long weekend has been such a delight with it. And donโ€™t forget your SPFโ€ฆ your skin and your health will thank you later!

Now Iโ€™m officially off for the rest of the day to spend it with my sweet girl ๐Ÿ’• My first four-day week in a long while, and Iโ€™m soaking up every second of it.

Nurse to Nurse โ€” Spotlight on Community Nurses โ™ฅ๏ธ

Community Nurses will always hold a very special place in my heart, as thatโ€™s where I spent most of my Nursing career before transitioning into my Footcare practice.

It takes an incredibly special kind of heart, strength, patience, and knowledge to do what community Nurses do every single day. Walking into homes never fully knowing whatโ€™s waiting on the other side of the door, adapting quickly, building trust one-on-one, and wearing your critical thinking cap at all times โ€” community nursing challenges you in ways that truly shape you as both a Nurse and a person.

One of my biggest takeaways from community nursing was realizing just how important critical thinking is in this profession. Not everyone has the ability to think, assess, adapt, and respond within seconds the way community Nurses often must.

Community Nursing can shape us, challenge us, humble us, and sometimes even break us โ€” but it also builds some of the strongest, most compassionate Nurses.

Ironically enough, during Nursing school clinical placements, VON was a mandatory placement and I remember thinking, โ€œHands down, I would do VON Nursing.โ€ Funny how life works sometimesโ€ฆ because in the end, thatโ€™s exactly what called me. Deep down, I knew the advanced skills, independence, experience, and knowledge were exactly what I needed to grow into the Nurse I wanted to become.

To every community Nurse: thank you for the care, strength, compassion, adaptability, and resilience you bring into peopleโ€™s homes and lives every single day.

You are truly a special kind of Nurse โ™ฅ๏ธโœจ

A Nurse Admiring Nurses ๐Ÿ’

Another fun fact โ€ฆ When I first dreamed of becoming a Nurse, I always imagined myself working in pediatrics. Even as a child, caring for little ones felt like where my heart belonged. I had moments in my life that quietly shaped the kind of Nurse and person I hoped to become.

Now, as a mother to my own daughter, those feelings reach an entirely different depth. Watching your child hurt, struggle, or simply need comfort changes you. It softens you in places you never knew existed(You know itโ€™s true when a little girl turns her daddy into the worldโ€™s biggest teddy bear) It makes you realize just how much trust families place in the hands of pediatric nurses every single day.

It takes a truly special kind of person to care for children day in and day out โ€” to be both strength and softness at the same time. Pediatric Nurses are more than caregivers. They are comfort in scary moments, calm in uncertainty, and safe places for both children and parents navigating some of the hardest days of their lives.

The smallest gestures โ€” a warm smile, a reassuring hand, kneeling down to a childโ€™s level, making them laugh through tears โ€” can leave lasting marks on a familyโ€™s heart forever.

There is something incredibly sacred about caring for children. Their resilience is inspiring, their vulnerability heartbreaking, and the Nurses who stand beside them carry a kind of compassion that deserves endless recognition.

To every pediatric Nurse: thank you for loving families through their hardest moments, for protecting tiny hearts, and for making hospital rooms feel a little less scary. The work you do matters more than words could ever expressโ€”From a fellow Nurse who deeply admires the Nurses you are โ™ฅ๏ธ
