The most effective workout is the one you’ll actually do.

The one that keeps you engaged.

The one that challenges you without making you dread showing up.

The one you actually enjoy.

And that doesn’t look the same for everyone.
As trainers, we often switch gears on a dime. We have alternative exercises in our heads, this-or-that options, modifications and progressions ready “just in case.” Sometimes we change the workout. Sometimes we change the music. Sometimes we change the conversation.

Because good coaching isn’t just about writing a workout — it’s about reading the person standing in front of you.

Shopping for a trainer is a little like shopping for a car.
You might find a less expensive model. You might find one with all the bells and whistles. But the real question is:
Does it work for your lifestyle?
Does your trainer understand your goals?
Do they keep you interested?
Do they know when to push and when to pivot?
And most importantly — do they make you want to keep coming back?

Because the “best” workout on paper means absolutely nothing if you don’t want to do it.
Find movement you enjoy. Find a coach who understands you. Then keep showing up.

It doesn't just happen.

Eating like garbage, regular alcohol consumption, and lack of movement, will age you. Probably not even at a regular pace, but accelerated.

Ever wonder why some 50 year olds look 35 while some look 60? It's not genetics and I can guarantee you don't have a thyroid problem. It's a choice.

There will come a time when it is in fact too late to start.

My recommendation? Don't wait for your body to decide when you have missed your opportunity.

The real workout happens when we are fueled by raw determination. 4 a.m alarm clock, yesterday's makeup running down our faces. Weird hair, weird clothes, questioning our life choices. The after, the glow up, the strength and the stamina, is the reason we keep setting our alarm.

We agreed to bike ride every day...today was day 2. My legs hurt, I feel tired, but we went. 😄

Close to the end of our route I said "Kashy I need a minute, my legs hurt". He replied "we are Me 1st Fitness & Coaching , we don't take breaks here. So put on your big girl panties and keep going".

Evidently he's been reading the signage in my gym 😄

And so I did what he said (he even made me say out loud I am Me 1st Fitness and coaching) 😄

Moral of the story? They are observing. They are learning by example. They are often the motivation in more ways than one!

To everyone who voted for Me 1st Fitness & Coaching thank you! This year Silver in Personal Training and Gold in fitness centers.

No staff, no fancy equipment, no bells and whistles, just a girl who had a dream and said "no" to anything but that!

5 years ago I had a vision of how I could help you, while being available to my young kids and still show up for myself in a healthy way.

Building this space, nurturing a community of men and women with goals drive and determination while still having the time and the energy to raise my boys has been a game changer. I couldn't be more grateful for the life you have helped me build ♥️
