Meet the artist 🍋Kayden🍋 Kayden Foote
Hi everyone!! I’m Kayden 🖤🕸️
For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’d like to take a little time to properly introduce myself and share a bit about the person behind the tattoos.
I was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, but grew up in Red Deer, and I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember. I’ve experimented with pretty much every medium you can think of, but drawing has always felt the most like home. I was that kid in class who was never quite paying attention because I was too busy filling my notebook with little drawings.
Looking back, I think a part of me always knew art would become a bigger part of my life. I just didn’t know what that would look like yet.
I recently graduated from the Visual Arts Diploma program at RDP, and that experience completely changed the way I see myself as an artist. I learned so much, pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, and developed my skills in ways I never expected. More than anything, it taught me what it really means to dedicate yourself to being an artist.
And then there’s tattooing. 🖤
I knew I wanted to become a tattoo artist the moment I got my first tattoo at 18. Getting that tattoo opened up an entirely new world to me. I became fascinated by the idea that art could become something so personal something someone could choose to carry with them for the rest of their life. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be on the other side of the chair.
I got my first apprenticeship in March of 2025 and was later promoted to Junior Artist. Since then, I’ve found my way to my new studio, Sad Lemon Club, where I get to work alongside an absolutely amazing team. I genuinely couldn’t be more grateful for where I am and for everyone who has helped me get here.
My favourite colours are black and pink but not just any pink. It’s gotta be that dusty, slightly gothic kind of pink. 🩷🖤 Which probably explains a lot about my aesthetic.
As an artist, I primarily work in black and grey, and I’m especially drawn to gothic, floral, fine line, and ornamental work. I love creating pieces that feel delicate and dark at the same time, and I’m always looking for ways to keep learning, experimenting, and developing my style.
Getting to this point hasn’t always been easy. There have been plenty of bumps, setbacks, and moments where I’ve questioned myself along the way. But every step, even the difficult ones, has brought me closer to where I am now, and I’m genuinely grateful for all of them.
I still have a hard time believing that I get to call this my job. There’s something really special about waking up every day knowing I get to spend my time creating art, meeting new people, and helping someone bring an idea they’ve been carrying around into something permanent.
I’m so excited to for the future, and I can’t wait to keep growing, both as an artist and as a person.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, trusted me with their skin, cheered me on, or simply followed along. It means more than you know. 🖤
I hope to see you all in my chair soon!! 🍋
