September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry the impacts of this history.

Reconciliation calls on all of us to listen, learn, and take action. There are many opportunities for continued learning, including the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, the Indigenous Canada course offered by the University of Alberta, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, the Indigenous Reconciliation app, and local community ceremonies and events throughout Renfrew County.

We remain committed to culturally safe and equitable health care. Our staff complete Cultural Competence and Indigenous Cultural Safety training as part of onboarding, and this fall, many of our team members will build on that by participating in Indigenous Health Awareness Training offered by the Indigenous Health Circle.

Today, we encourage everyone to take time to reflect on how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

The ARFHT Nurse Practitioner Led Urgent Care Clinic is now open and ready to help you access timely support for urgent, non-life-threatening health concerns.

✅Same-day appointments are available Monday to Thursday between 2-3pm, bookable up to 24 hours in advance
✅Book online (https://tinyurl.com/ARFHTurgentcare) or by calling 343-361-3299. If no appointments are available online, we are fully booked or not running the clinic that day.
✅Available to Ontarians living in Renfrew, Calabogie, and surrounding communities, or those with a doctor or nurse practitioner affiliated with Ancient Rivers Family Health Team.

The Urgent Care Clinic helps with colds, flu, sore throats, ear and sinus infections, UTIs, minor cuts & burns, sprains & strains, and rashes.

If you have a doctor or nurse practitioner, please contact them first as they may be able to offer a same-day appointment. This clinic is intended to support patients who are unable to access their regular provider promptly or do not have a regular provider.
