Hello, September!🌞🌊

What a way to kick off the month! Yesterday brought us a serious heat wave 🥵, but luckily, we had already planned a day at ! 💦

We spent the day keeping cool, riding the lazy river, running through the splash pad, and staying cool. 😎🌊

We even prepared a picnic beforehand and enjoyed it together in the middle of the day.

We headed to Simcoe this week and took a nice walk around town and visited some of these super cool murals by talented artists.

With summer coming to an end, we wish Cierra all the best as she continues working toward completing her degree.

What we do in nature, we do to ourselves.

Last Wednesday, we headed out into the community to do a clean up!
We met a lot of locals along the way including Dingo the parrot!

Being a part of the community and taking care of it is very important to Springcare.

FOOD PASSPORT DAY: SCOTLAND

We travelled all the way to Scotland for our latest Food Passport adventure!

We learned about some of Scotland’s most famous things, including the legendary Loch Ness Monster (Nessie), Highland cows, and Scottish wh**ky.

For lunch, we made a classic UK favourite ... bangers and mash. For dessert, we made cranachan, a famous Scottish dessert made with cream, raspberries, oats and honey.

And of course, we needed some bagpipes for the reel! Scotland the Brave!

Life Skills: Laundry Day!

A little late posting, but we definitely didn’t forget to do the laundry! Last week, our Life Skills crew practiced sorting, washing, drying, and folding their clothes. Laundry may not be glamorous, but it’s an important skill for independence! 💪

Fruit Picking Day

We visited Depner Blueberries pick your own Blueberries. 🫐 Our crew made sure to pick the best and even sample one or two.

We incorporated our blueberries into our lunch today! Working on mastering our life skills.

Yesterday we hit the streets for another Photo Scavenger Hunt ... and honestly, we’re getting pretty good at this. 😂

Beautiful weather, questionable navigation skills, lots of laughs and somehow we managed to find all 15 stops!

Our Springcare team explored Port Dover, made memories and probably learned a few things along the way.

It’s the best time of the year!

September means saying goodbye to summer and HELLO to FALL! Welcome back from summer , we’re ready for cooler days, changing leaves and all the fun that comes with the “ber” months!

September kicks off one of our favourite times of the year, and we have so much to look forward to: apple picking, pumpkins, fall activities, Halloween and, before we know it, Christmas!

We’re excited for all the adventures, community outings, LifeSkills, cooking, crafts and seasonal fun ahead. Bring on fall!
