It was outstanding to meet up with Laura and Ed again. Last Year, On Run For The Wall central route, i was in Laura's platoon. She was the 2 i/c and helped me alot on the ride. Ed and I were both in the same compound in Somalia back in 1993, i was in Direct Fire Support Platoon, and he was US military. Two of the best kind of people. Ed, AKA Santa Claus, rides the Royal Gorge Route Railroad, out of Canon City, Colorado. During his time on the Santa Express Train, they have 40, 000 guests board the train each year, so you need to book ahead. My goal is to go down there and ride the train near the end of November and get a picture with Santa himself, and promise him i will be on the Run For The Wall 2027. Yesterday, Michelle presented my River Valley Resilience Retreat challenge coin to me. Shes had it saved for a while, she kept #158 for me. We Will Remember Them!
The RVRR has been a source of refuge for my mental health. I did their Prairies to Peaks Consulting and did the 4 day Intensive Peer Support Worker Training in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Prior to that, i did the Mental Health First Aid course with Paul Valiquette and Saskatchewan Legion Command in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. It would seem that Saskatchewan has done alot for my mental health, thanks to RVRR, Michelle, Greg, Roxanne, Curtis (support group prior to RVRR) and Saskatchewan Legion Command with Chad, Paul and Danielle. You have know idea how much you make my life a better place because of yous! Love you all.
