It's Day 173 of my "40th Birthday Bulk" Challenge. It's Friday, May 29th, we're exactly one week away from my 40th Birthday, and this is me hitting a 555-pound Deadlift at a 185-pound Bodyweight! I'm also on a 5-Day Fast. If I was fully fed, I'd go a little heavier, but for today, 5-5-5 seems like a good OCD number to stop at! 💪🏿💪🏿

405x5 on a “bad legs” day.

When I woke up this morning, my legs felt like they were filled with lead. Heavy. Weak. Sluggish. The kind of morning where even bodyweight squats felt like they were going to be a negotiation. So instead of forcing a PR, chasing ego, or pretending recovery doesn’t matter, I adjusted the plan. I lightened the load and hit 405 pounds for 5 comfortable reps. And honestly? Not bad considering how the day started.

This is the part of training that most people don’t talk about enough: not every workout needs to be a personal record. Not every squat session needs to be all-out. Not every heavy lower-body workout needs to be a war against the barbell. Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is respect what your body is telling you, reduce the load, focus on clean reps, keep the pattern sharp, and live to fight another day.

Progressive overload matters. Heavy squats matter. Strength training matters. But so does recovery, readiness, fatigue management, and knowing when to push versus when to pull back. If you want long-term strength, muscle, performance, and longevity, you can’t train like every session is a test. Sometimes the win is showing up, making the smart adjustment, getting quality work in, and coming back stronger next workout.

My WEEKLY Supplement SYSTEM!

Do you WASTE your Physio benefits???

A lot of people have physiotherapy benefits and never use them. Then they spend months “just waiting to see if it gets better” while their neck stays tight, their back keeps barking, their shoulder still feels jammed up, and their knee reminds them every time they use the stairs. That is backwards. If you already have coverage, use the damn thing for something useful.

Physiotherapy is not just for people who are completely broken. It is for the nagging issues, the recurring pain, the stiffness, the movement restrictions, and the problems that keep getting brushed off until they become bigger problems.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! 🎃🎃🎃🔪🔪🔪

The reason most people fail isn't due to the big things. Rather, it's the small changes that they're unwilling to make. Like swapping regular Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or Reese's Mini's for these Quest Peanut Butter Cups or Quest Mini Peanut Butter Cups.

My best friend is a shining example; after I finish scaring the s**t out of the kids on his block, he'll be snacking on regular chips and candies, and I'll be having these.

Additionally, they will all be going in the freezer – so it takes me longer to eat them – and I'll only be having one piece at a time, so I burn more NEAT calories by continually walking to the freezer to grab a piece.

I get it; you don't want to sacrifice on taste. But guess what? Nothing worth having comes without a bit of sacrifice. The choice is yours; make small changes now, for big changes in the future!!!

Today marks the official end of my "90-Days to your Dream Body by Halloween Transformation Challenge!"

Today, I had the Grand Reopening of my Team Youphoric Health and Performance Center and my Physiotherapy Clinic to celebrate 10 years of leaving the commercial gym space to persue my Dream of opening my own facilities, and it was great!

I made some healthy drinks and snacks (2nd image) that everyone enjoyed, the Mayor of Aurora – – stopped by (1st Image) and brought me a gift (3rd Image), and I had some of the local Commerce Members stop by and also give me a gift (4th image).

All that's left to do is clean up – and I'm completely pooped – so I'm going to do that right now and then pass out while visions of sugar plums dance through my head.
