Here he discusses how oral cancer rates have continued to rise over the last two decades, and how it’s changing the conversation around oral lesion management.

There’s is no true standard approach for managing mild dysplasia or leukoplakia. Some clinicians monitor yearly, some take a more aggressive route, and others may not intervene at all.

But with increasing cancer diagnoses and current WHO dysplasia grading criteria, the field is shifting toward earlier detection, closer monitoring, and more proactive intervention.
