Options is proud to announce that we are piloting new youth s*xual health clinics in Tofino and Salt Spring! These clinics will be piloting the co-designed, youth-centered s*xual health care model published last month in the BC Youth Sexual Health Evaluation Report.

The first pilot youth clinics is opening today in Tofino and offers drop-in services for youth up to age 29. The clinic will be open for the first 3 Tuesdays of the month, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. For more information about this clinic, visit the link in our bio!

The pilot clinic in Salt Spring will be opening later in the fall—stay tuned for more updates!

Providing comprehensive s*xual health education is about so much more than delivering lessons—it requires intentional systems, accessible resources, and collaborative relationships that support educators and meet the diverse needs of all students.

Chris Billingham (she/they) is a q***r, mixed European/Cree-Métis educator, and the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Coordinator for Chilliwack School District, where they lead district-wide initiatives focused on s*xual health education, SOGI-inclusive education, and anti-racism. Chris is also a BCTF facilitator, s*xual health educator with SARAVYC, and a 1st year PhD student in Child, Youth, Family and Community Studies at UVic.

Options is honoured to once again celebrate World Sexual Health Day with WHRI!

We had the distinct pleasure of announcing the best abstracts at yesterday’s World Sexual Health Day event. It was a difficult decision, given the amount of amazing research projects that were presented. We would like to congratulate Dr. Jodie Pulsifer and Nazanin Sadoughian for their wonderful presentations and amazing research! We look forward to hearing more about how Dr. Pulsifer’s research will improve pelvic health and pleasure for people with vulvas and how Nazanin’s research improve access to s*xual health in rural and remote communities.

Happy World Sexual Health Day 2026!

World Sexual Health Day (WSHD) is celebrated every year on September 4 to promote education, dialogue, and action around s*xual health and rights.

This year’s theme is “Every Body”, in recognition of the fact that people experience s*xual health, rights, and justice differently based on the body they are born into. In honour of this year's theme, we invite you to reflect on how the body you’ve been born into has impacted your access to s*xual health and justice.

Are you an aspiring s*x educator? Are you interested in building a specialized skill set for teaching comprehensive s*xual health education?

SHEC is a virtual certification program designed to prepare individuals to deliver comprehensive s*xual health education sessions to a variety of audiences in the public and private sectors.

Applications for the 2027 cohorts of our SHEC Program are open now! Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis—this means that we review applications as they arrive and offer make decisions about applications as they are received. If you’re interested in our SHEC Program, we encourage you to apply early! Once the cohort is full, applications will close and spots can fill up quickly.
