✨What do you love most about being a counsellor:
I love how relational this work is—it is incredibly rewarding to witness the human experience unfold and to not only feel grateful to be a part of the process, but to learn from my clients as well.
✨ 1–2 fun facts about you
I studied holistic nutrition before starting my masters degree, so I love integrating aspects of that into my counselling practice
I have a dog named Brooks and we always find time to hike and play outside—he has finally learned how to play fetch, which is a huge win for the both of us
✨Your go-to stretch, recovery tool, or wellness tip you often share with clients:
One thing I often remind clients is that regulation does not always have to be complicated. Sometimes it looks like stepping outside, drinking water, or taking a deep breath. If things feel overwhelming, retrace your steps and collect the data, regulation is easier to find by asking yourself good questions (i.e., what am I feeling? what do I need right now?)
✨Your favourite local YYJ spot (a restaurant, a hiking trail, or a beach, etc.)
Routine coffee! ☕️() ! and one of my favourite places to reset is the Royal Roads University forest loop—it is magical in there.
