The Humans Behind VSLC // Meet Kwiryung (Ki) Kim (she/her)

Registered Occupational Therapist • Play-Based Spark • Global Adventurer

Ki has officially joined the VSLC crew as our newest Occupational Therapist, bringing a beautiful mix of international experience and joyful energy to the team!

If you’ve already crossed paths with Ki, you know she has an incredible gift for making people feel right at home. She focuses entirely on heart-centred connection, turning big therapeutic goals into creative, child-led play. Her sessions are always packed with plenty of smiles, comfort, and laughter!

Ki’s path to VSLC is a pretty amazing story. Born and raised in Japan with a Korean heritage, she grew up bilingual. After earning her OT degree from Nagasaki University, she spent two years working at a pediatric sensory integration clinic in Japan.

Looking to expand her horizons, Ki made the big move to Vancouver in 2022. Navigating the mountain of exams and paperwork to get licensed in Canada is a massive hurdle, but Ki tackled it head-on! While completing the process, she worked full-time as a pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for over two years, earned an Early Childhood Education Diploma (specializing in Special Needs), and got certified in the DIR Floortime model. Talk about dedication!

When she's off the clock, Ki is all about creativity and exploration. You can usually find her nurturing her indoor plant jungle, crafting, exploring BC's beautiful nature, or jetting off on a solo travel adventure. Most recently, she added a very special new title: Dog Mom! She recently adopted a sweet dog named Mandy, and the two are loving exploring the Island together.

Ki, we are so lucky to have your bright spirit, tenacity, and the wonderful warmth you bring to our VSLC community!

👉 Swipe through to check out Ki’s travel photos, her favourite local nature spots, her new best bud Mandy, and a look at her impressive dancer prowess (she has over 10 years of dance training!)

Stay tuned as we continue introducing more of the wonderful humans behind the work here at VSLC.

Traditional youth sports aren’t built for every kiddo, and that’s okay. That’s exactly why we created Everybody Plays! A sensory-aware, adaptive sport & movement group where every body belongs.

Whether your child is navigating a physical disability, sensory processing differences, neurodivergence, or simply feels overwhelmed on traditional sports sidelines, we meet them right where they’re at.

What makes Everybody Plays different?
• Led by a Licensed OT: Built from the ground up with sensory regulation, motor planning, and individual adaptations in mind.
• 2:1 Support Ratio: High-touch support with our lead OT and energetic Kinesiology student assistants.
• Zero-Pressure Fun: Focus on foundational movement, building confidence, and making real friends.

💡 Funding Friendly: Because our group is OT-led, it’s eligible for Autism Funding (AFU), Homeschool Funding, and direct insurance reimbursement for service by an OT!

📍 Location: Victoria or Westshore
