Hey everyone 💙
It’s been a week since we completed the May Dip Challenge, and I thought I’d be honest with you all.
I found it hard.
Mentally and physically, it challenged me more than I expected. The first two weeks I felt energised, excited, and ready to go. But by the last two weeks, it started to feel really tough.
Alongside teaching full-time, showing up for a whole group of people, holding space, encouraging everyone, navigating a knee injury, and getting myself into cold water every single day… I definitely felt drained.
And I think that’s important to share.
Cold dipping has so many beautiful benefits, but it’s also not about forcing yourself through something when your body is asking for rest. This challenge reminded me how powerful the cold can be, but also how important it is to listen to yourself.
I’m so proud of everyone who took part, and I’m so grateful for the community that showed up throughout May.
But right now, I’m also excited to dip just for me again. No challenge, no pressure, no need to prove anything. Just me, the water, my breath, and the reminder of why I started.
And don’t worry, Friday morning dips are still happening. Mornings are my favourite time to dip. There’s something about getting in the water first thing that makes me feel ready for the rest of the day, and reminds me that I’m capable of handling whatever the day sends my way.
So yes, Friday mornings are very much still on 💙
