Sometimes a cover-up isn't about hiding the past — it's about creating something new from it.

This Daruma was a really rewarding cover-up to work on.

The Japanese Daruma is traditionally associated with perseverance, determination, resilience, and achieving your goals — and I think that makes it a pretty fitting symbol for a piece like this.

Cover-ups can be challenging. You're working with something that's already there, figuring out what can be incorporated, what needs to disappear, and how to create a new design that feels intentional rather than simply covering what's underneath.

BUT..... that's also what makes them so satisfying.
Taking an old tattoo that someone may have grown tired of or no longer connected with, and turning it into something they're excited to look at again, is one of the things I really enjoy about tattooing.

This is one of those pieces where the before and after really tell the story.

If you've got an old tattoo you've been thinking about covering, don't assume it can't be done. Every situation is different, and sometimes it just takes the right concept and some creative planning.

Some tattoos are more than just tattoos.

Every memorial piece tells a story that deserves to be treated with care and respect.

Whether it's a portrait of someone you've lost, a handwritten note, a meaningful date,a paw print🐾, or a symbol that keeps their memory close, these tattoos often become some of the most important pieces I'll ever create.

It's a privilege to be trusted with something so personal. I know these aren't just images—they represent love, loss, memories, and the people who helped shape our lives.

Back from my first tattoo convention… and what a weekend it was.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth, watched me work, shared a conversation, or trusted me with a tattoo. It was an incredible experience meeting so many talented artists and amazing clients, and I'm grateful to have been a part of the Maiden Cape Breton Tattoo Expo.

Now it's time to get back to the studio.

I'm heading to my first tattoo convention this week, and I couldn't be more excited.

I'm honoured to be attending the Maiden Cape Breton Tattoo Expo and sharing a booth with my friend and fellow artist, Jamie MacKay of Sacred Temple Tattoos. It's an incredible opportunity to connect with talented artists, meet amazing people, and continue learning and growing in the craft I love.

If you're attending the expo, stop by and say hello—I always enjoy meeting new faces, talking tattoos, and connecting with the community.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up about a recent experience. I completed a tattoo for a client last week who has not paid the remaining balance after their deposit. I've reached out several times over the past week to resolve the issue, but I've received conflicting explanations and the balance still hasn't been paid.

I'm sharing this simply to make other artists aware and hopefully prevent someone else from ending up in the same situation. We all work hard for our craft and deserve to be paid for the time, effort, and skill we put into our work.
This is how I feed my family, pay my bills. I hoped it wouldn't come to this but im at a loss on what to do, and I wouldn't want other artists to get ripped off either.

Important Update Regarding Appointments & Payments

Due to a recent situation where a completed tattoo has still not been paid for beyond the initial deposit, I have made the difficult decision to update my booking policy.

Effective immediately, all appointments booked through my online booking system will require a valid credit card or Visa Debit card to secure the appointment. Your card will not be charged at the time of booking. It will only be used if required deposits or outstanding balances are not paid in accordance with my booking policy.

This is not a change I wanted to make. Unfortunately, situations like this have made it necessary to better protect my business. Using a card processing service also comes with additional costs, but it is a step I now need to take.

As a self-employed tattoo artist operating a private studio, this is my livelihood. My business is how I support myself and my family, pay my bills, and continue providing a safe, professional, and welcoming experience for every client. Just as you wouldn't leave another business without paying for the services or products you've received, I ask that the same respect be shown here.

To all of my amazing clients who have supported me over the years and have always respected my policies—thank you. Your trust and support mean more than you know.

I appreciate everyone's understanding as I continue doing what's necessary to protect my business while providing the best possible experience for every client.
