College of Paramedics of Manitoba

College of Paramedics of Manitoba CPMB is dedicated to protecting the public and supporting paramedics in delivering safe, high-quality care across Manitoba

06/18/2026

Did you know that during the 2025 - 26 fiscal year, the College regulated 2,176 registrants across Manitoba?

The paramedic profession throughout Manitoba includes multiple license levels, each playing an important role in delivering care to Manitobans. Breaking down these numbers can help provide a snapshot of the province's profession and support CPMB's ongoing work to regulate paramedicine in the public interest.

For a full breakdown and to dive into the numbers a little deeper, view our annual report, which is now available here:https://collegeparamb.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/202526-Annual-Report-FINAL.pdf

Last week, Tim went on a road trip to Southern Manitoba 🚗

📍 First stop was the Canadian Air Forces Base, where he met with Warrant Officer Darin Thompson to discuss the newly approved policy and pathway that allows Canadian Armed Forces Medics to challenge the COPR exam and pursue registration with the College.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to learn more about the unique experiences and challenges faced by military medics.

📍 Next, Tim made a pit stop in Brandon to visit CPMB Council Chair Sean Klemick at his workplace and take the opportunity to discuss PCC and self-regulation with his crew.

📍 Finally, he headed to Assiniboine College's Dauphin Campus to meet with leadership and learn more about the rollout of their newly approved P*P program. Discussions focused on education standards, program approval requirements, and preparations for the program's first student cohort in 2027.

These conversations are a great opportunity to strengthen relationships, support the future of the profession, and ensure the College stays connected to the people and organizations shaping paramedicine in Manitoba 💪

Last week, Nikki Little, Deputy Registrar at CPMB, attended the WFPS ACP research day.

The College would like to congratulate all ACP students on successfully presenting their research projects! This is an incredible academic accomplishment that requires a lot of hard work and dedicated time. The work of these projects not only benefits the students in their learning but is also a key part of evaluating and moving the industry forward.

Special shoutout to Training Officer, Dr. Neil McDonald, who has continued to raise the bar on Research Day, making it an exceptional demonstration of academic performance

Our Program for Continuing Competency for the 2026 – 27 cycle is now open and available to complete.

We recognize that the PCC is launching later than usual this year, but we promise it’s for good reason… 👀

Based on feedback from registrants, we’re working to update the PCC process. While this work continues behind the scenes, we’re launching an interim submission process to ensure you can still meet professional requirements.

Here’s what you need to know:
👉 Clearer guidance and fewer learning goals
👉 Flexibility to move between sections and update responses
👉 Access and submission is now done through the PCC section on our website
👉 PCC must still be completed before renewal

To view the new handbook and complete your PCC, visit: https://collegeparamb.ca/professional-practice/program-for-continuing-competency/

Watch the tutorial on completing your PCC here 👉 https://collegeparamb.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2.1.4-PCC-Video-Tutorial-final.mp4

05/29/2026

As some of our registrants have noticed, the 2026 – 27 PCC is currently unavailable. That’s because something new is coming!

Based on feedback we’ve received from registrants, we’ve been working to improve and update the PCC process to make it more efficient and easier to complete.

More details will be coming soon, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media and your emails 👀
