💉How can counselling influence patients’ decisions about pneumococcal vaccination?

Adult remains an important priority in Romania, yet evidence on how physician training translates into patient-level outcomes is still limited.

📢 We invite you to read this recently published paper in Germs:
Changes in Patient Attitudes and After Pneumococcal Vaccination Counselling by Trained Family Physicians: A Multicentre Implementation Study in Romania 🫁

by Roxana Surugiu, Virginia-Maria Rădulescu, Anca Deleanu, Anca Lăcătuș, Mirela Mustață, Dana Fărcășanu, Iulia Vișinescu, Alexandra Aurora Dumitra and Gheorghe Gindrovel Dumitra

📌 This multicentre implementation study explores changes in patient , vaccination intention, and self-reported or appointment scheduling following counselling delivered by trained family physicians across three Romanian settings.

Rather than comparing training approaches as causal interventions, the study provides a real-world look at how different and implementation contexts may shape patient responses.

Can exposure before stem cell reshape the ?

This newly published study explores the impact of pre-transplant antibiotic exposure on the gut microbiome of patients undergoing (allo-HSCT), providing valuable insights into factors that may influence transplant outcomes.

🔬 Key findings:
🧫 Gut microbiome diversity was significantly lower in transplant recipients than in healthy controls.
💊 Pre-transplant antibiotic exposure was associated with reduced microbial diversity.
🌱 The findings reinforce the importance of in pre-transplant care to help preserve the gut microbiome and potentially improve transplant outcomes.
