SERENDIPITY.

Alex and his Mad et Len closed The Windows Apartment’s Summer Residency with exhibition « Serendipity » at OōEli, Hangzhou from Aug 24th till Aug 20th, 2026.
Paintings and three Hangzhou‑inspired scents on view.

• Exhibition Statement •

During this residency, I explored the olfactory and literary cultural resources of Hangzhou.
My main inspiration for the drawings came from the poems of Li Qingzhao, who taught me that beauty does not reside in things themselves, but in the way we perceive them.
As for the perfume, I drew upon the drawing process itself - the scent of the ink, both black and gold - as well as the fragrance of the Buddha’s hand citron, which I discovered during my travels and research.
May this work bring a touch of poetry to your day. Thank you.
