I am seeing more and more young girls struggle with PMDD.

They report low mood, anxiety, and poor sleep, especially in the second half of the cycle. One factor that’s often missed is cholesterol.

We’ve been told to avoid cholesterol, but it’s actually essential for hormone production and helping the brain stay calm.

If the body doesn’t have the building blocks, it can’t cope with those fluctuations properly.

Sometimes it isn’t about adding more medication; it’s about giving your body what it needs.

Your microbiome plays a bigger role than most people realise.

It impacts your mood, your skin, your hormones, your digestion and your immune system.

Those gut bacteria need feeding properly every day.

Things like fibre, fermented foods and good fats all help them thrive.

When you look after that environment, everything else starts to work better.

This is where a lot of the change happens.

Feeling tired all the time, craving sugar and dealing with brain fog?

It could be your insulin resistance.

This is something we test because if your body isn’t responding properly to insulin, it’s very hard to get on top of energy, weight or cravings.

Once you know what’s going on, there are simple ways to bring it back into balance.

But it starts with understanding your body.

Low mood, anxiety, poor sleep, especially in that luteal phase.

Your gut bacteria do far more than people realise.

When you support that environment properly, everything else starts to improve.

One of the loveliest follow-ups yesterday…

A client came back in having lost three stone, and honestly, she looked completely different, not just physically but mentally as well. She was glowing

what was really interesting is that it wasn’t just about food

for her, a huge part of the change came from getting cortisol and stress under control

that’s why testing and follow-ups matter so much, because it helps you understand where your body is struggling and where you actually need to focus your efforts

sometimes it’s diet, sometimes it’s stress, sometimes the body is just so nutritionally depleted that it can’t function properly

once those things start coming back into balance, the changes can be huge.

I always get clients to hold weighted vests equivalent to the weight they’ve lost, because you don’t realise how much you’ve been carrying around until you physically feel it

such a lovely moment yesterday and a reminder of what the body can do when you support it properly.

Still tired no matter how much sleep you get?

Gaining weight without changing what you eat?
Feeling foggy headed most of the time?

It could be insulin resistance.

It’s something we see a lot, and it can leave your body feeling completely out of balance.

Once you understand what’s going on, you can start to bring it back under control.

It’s not random, there’s always a reason.

I’ve had several clients this week ask me “do you think I’m a lost cause?” or “am I too complicated to fix?”
The answer is always the same. No. You are not a lost cause. There is always something you can work on that will genuinely improve your health.
Looking at your diet, your lifestyle, your stress levels, what you are consuming and not just physically. The food and drink, yes, but also what you are taking in from your environment. Identifying those things and then working on them will have some of the biggest impacts on your health you will ever experience.
None of what I talk about is complicated. But it does take effort.
Health isn’t like climbing a mountain where you reach the top and you’re done. It’s about working on things every single day. Some days you do brilliantly, some days you miss the mark and have a write-off day. That’s fine. Because the more good days you stack up, the more that muscle gets flexed, and the more those better habits take hold.
Diet is one of the best examples. Really look at what you are eating. Our bodies evolved to eat things that have been grown and killed. That’s it. Keep it as close to that as possible and you cannot go wrong.
What you drink matters just as much. We evolved to drink water. That has to be the foundation of what you consume.
Diet drinks and cordials are making you ill. Full stop. If the World Health Organisation tells us artificial sweeteners cause cancer, they do. So why would you drink them just because they are zero calories?
A large latte every day is doing you no good either, especially with sugar syrup added. Coffee does have real health benefits, but drink it black. Milk proteins block the absorption of the polyphenols, the very thing that makes coffee good for you. And add up the calories of a large latte every single day and see where that gets you.
This post is a reminder that I believe, without exception, every single person can do something meaningful for their health. For their inflammation, their digestive system, their mental health, their hormonal health. And it should start with you, not your doctor, and with what you are doing to yourself every day.

Happy Wednesday you gorgeous beings… it’s a training morning for me… natroceutics have brought out a new product… I’ll be reporting back to you

People often think weight loss is only about calories or cutting things out, but that isn’t always the case.

One of the biggest things we see is stress and high cortisol levels stopping the body from functioning properly.

You can be eating well, trying really hard, and still feel stuck.

Once the body feels safer and more balanced, things can start shifting much more easily.

That’s why it’s so important to understand what your body actually needs, rather than guessing and exhausting yourself trying everything.

Sometimes the issue isn’t lack of effort, it’s where that effort is being placed.

Between clients, there isn’t always time to think about food.

So it comes down to preparation.

Having simple things ready in the fridge makes it much easier to eat well.

Good quality protein, grains, vegetables, and healthy fats, and you’ve got a solid meal.

If you’re prepared, you’re far less likely to reach for rubbish.
