Trauma Therapy by Trish

Trauma Therapy by Trish Award winning Coventry-based Emotional Wellbeing & Educational Support Services for ages 4-104 years! Let's talk about baggage!

Working with schools, charities & individual private clients. Lifting Lives & Raising Results to improve long term life chances. We all carry around "stuff"; thoughts, opinions, memories & fears that have formed based on our past experiences. There are no rules about how quickly we should get over things. But if there is trauma that is continuously impacting on your daily life, then it is importan

t to seek help.

Emotional Trauma is not an event, it is how one unique individual reacts to and processes an event that may have been traumatic for them. Some are genetically better equipped to cope; others may have just experienced too much to be able to keep going any longer. Some may have underlying mental health or physical health conditions that impact on the ability to deal with some of these events causing them to re-live the events in their minds or live in fear of them, preventing them from enjoying their life in the here and now, or planning and dreaming of a brighter future. Left unresolved, this can negatively impact on long-term emotional wellbeing and be a contributory factor in more serious mental health conditions, it can damage relationships, and lead to dependency on others, substances or dangerous habits and activities. There is HOPE and there is SUPPORT available. Drawing and Talking is a 1-2-1 therapeutic intervention suitable for Children and Adults. It allows time and space to process and deal with trauma in a safe way. Drawing allows the deeper part of the brain to be involved, especially the right-hand side of the brain where powerful emotional memories are stored visually. This therapeutic intervention is offered in many schools but is also effective for adults experiencing the difficulties of un-processed trauma. (Panic attacks, sleep problems, flashbacks, lack of concentration, withdrawal, stomach problems, tension headaches etc)

As we come to the end of Growing for Wellbeing Week 2026 I thought I would share a little about it.

Set up by Life at No.27, the week is a celebration of the magic that growing your own produce can do for your wellbeing, both physically and mentally.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience mental ill health each year. There is strong evidence highlighting the health benefits of gardening and GYO in particular, including improved confidence, communication, concentration and ultimately self-belief.

Gardening improves mental health, enables better physical health, provides an opportunity to connect with others, acquire new skills and enjoy the great outdoors.

After all, It’s not what you grow, it’s how YOU grow. 🎈

There are community gardens, here in Coventry, so if you don't have a garden or even a window box, there are options for you!

I work with children age 4+...

and adults!

As we come to the end of Child Safety Week, I thought I would signpost you, if you are a parent or someone who works with children, to the Child Accident Prevention Trust's website, where you can find lots of safety advice and resources, and even sign up for their free information newsletter!

https://capt.org.uk/child-safety-week/

Looking after mental health is just as important as physical health, no matter what age you are, not all things can be prevented, even children have experienced emotionally traumatic events and may need help processing that - that's where I come in! 🎈

You may think it is too early to know WHO will need support in September...

Let's think PROACTIVELY, rather than REACTIVELY - you KNOW your current pupils, you KNOW who is struggling now, you KNOW who has something going on at home, you KNOW who historically struggles with transitions...

I always advocate prioritising your new Yr6 children (current Yr5) for September, help them to free up the headspace for optimum learning and all the forthcoming changes. These are also the children you have known the longest, the families you have built longstanding relationships with, and also the children who may not get this support opportunity going forward at Secondary School. 🎈

📢NEW SCHOOL bookings now being taken, introductory discounts available!

I'm taking part in Small Business Week from 1st - 7th June.

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, and this week is all about encouraging more people to shop small, buy local and support independent businesses.

I'd love your support this week.

Book with me, recommend me, share this post or tell someone about what I do.

I am particularly looking to connect with any local school contacts you may have;

✅SENDCos,
✅Learning Mentors,
✅Family Support Workers,
✅Mental Health Leads,
✅PSHE Subject Leads,
✅Headteachers,
✅School Governors...

It all helps.

Thank you 🎈
