Carer Connect is a new free digital service designed to help unpaid carers quickly access trusted advice, information and local support — whenever they need it.
Developed by the four South Yorkshire councils — Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield — alongside local carers, the service provides 24/7 support through an easy-to-use WhatsApp chat. It’s available in different languages, requires no referral, and is designed to fit around busy everyday lives. Whether someone is juggling caring responsibilities with work, family life or their own wellbeing, support is always available.

Emergency planning and day-to-day support
Across South Yorkshire, around 140,000 people provide unpaid care for a family member or friend — and many people in Doncaster may not recognise themselves as carers or realise support is available to them.
