✨ DEAR DR SAYERS ✨
We’re sad to announce that Dr Janet Sayers will be retiring at the end of September after an incredible 30 years with the practice 😢
She started with us as a locum GP back in 1996 - and just never left! 😂 She became a GP Partner in April 1997 and, alongside her colleagues, became responsible for the running of the practice as a business - no mean feat! 😮
In her time here, she has seen a lot of change - not only in a medical sense but also within the practice team. She has been a prominent part of training future GPs in her role as GP Educational Supervisor as well as mentoring 4th year medical students 🌟 This legacy cannot be overstated and, in fact, her last trainee was our very own Dr Spilsbury! 🥰
She has never shied away from a challenge, with her catchphrase - “I’ll give it a go!”- frequently heard 😆 She has been a fountain of knowledge for all things skin-related; from sebaceous cysts to cystic acne, she has been our “resident dermatologist” and her input has been widely sought by patients and clinicians alike 🙌🏻☺️
To patients, Dr Sayers’ experience and candour have been invaluable. To us, she has been the beating heart of this place, rallying us to push ourselves whilst never forgetting the importance of teamwork. We know her absence will be felt greatly by the team here and our patients 💚
She is, however, ready to take on her next adventure with lots of exciting travel planned! 🌍✈️
Her official last day in practice will be Tuesday 29th September. If you would like to leave her a farewell message, we now have a guestbook at reception and we’d love as many of you to pop by as possible! 📖🖊️
