💙PCOS has been renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), and the reason for this change is significant.

👉The previous name implied that ovarian cysts were the primary issue, yet many women with the condition do not have them. Current research now frames PCOS as a broader metabolic and hormonal syndrome that can impact insulin resistance, energy levels, sleep, mood, weight, fertility, and cardiovascular health.
This shift underscores a crucial point: women's health is never "one size fits all," and a holistic view of the body is essential.

🍃As a Medical Herbalist, I believe this change is both welcome and overdue. My approach to treating this condition has always involved looking beyond the surface to find the root drivers. I focus on supporting metabolic balance and addressing insulin resistance through nutrition, herbal medicine, and considered lifestyle changes.

In my tailored treatment plans, I assess factors like gut health, stress, sleep, liver function, and nutritional status—incorporating laboratory testing when needed—to create a complete picture.

👉If you have PCOS, now PMOS—and feel your care has only scratched the surface, you're not imagining it. There is more to the story and much more that can be done.

🚣‍♀️ Oundle Town Rowing Club has been such a big part of our lives over the years ❤️

John was one of the founders of the club and Club Captain for over 15 years, and we both still row there today. Our children learnt to row there too, gaining confidence, friendships and unforgettable experiences along the way.

If you know any enthusiastic 13–17 year olds who might enjoy trying something new, building fitness, teamwork and confidence, please take a look or share this with them.

The club is always looking to welcome new young rowers, they really are the future of the club.

And as they say… even Jason and Oli are starting to get on a bit now 😂

😊We are delighted to welcome Bex Standen back to our team at Kettering Osteopaths.

💙 Bex has worked both Oundle Osteopaths and Kettering Osteopaths since qualifying as an osteopath, having graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2010 with a Master's degree (M.ost).

✨Since then Bex has lived and worked in both the UK and NZ, gaining experience working in a variety of different practices and working with a broad range of patients and pathologies.
Having grown up in an osteopathic household (her father is also an osteopath) Bex has always seen the benefits of osteopathy. Not only how it can help to manage musculoskeletal problems, but also how it can be used successfully alongside other modalities of healthcare and can help to manage more chronic symptoms and conditions.

💙She firmly believes osteopathy can be of benefit to all ages and individuals, and enjoys treating patients of all ages, from babies to the elderly. Bex will be at Kettering osteopaths on Mondays and Thursdays.

To book an appointment with Bex or another member of our team, please call us on 01536 512927 or visit our online booking page at https://ketteringosteopaths.janeapp.co.uk/

👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩Last week, I gave a talk for Barnwell WI on staying fit during and after menopause.

The evening focused on the importance of movement, strength, posture and supporting musculoskeletal health during this stage of life.

✨We also did some simple exercises together that can be done at home to help improve muscle strength, bone density and balance, which was great fun.

🌸Menopause can bring many changes to the body, and staying active can play an important role in maintaining mobility, balance, strength and overall wellbeing.

Thank you to Barnwell WI for the warm welcome and thoughtful discussions throughout the evening ❤️

It was such a fun trip 🐬A big thank you to for creating the fantastic crew T-shirts for the journey 👏
