Why Join The Viking Trial?

Because life has a habit of wearing men down.

Not all at once.

Just a little bit at a time.

Work gets busy.
Responsibilities increase.
Fitness slips.
Energy drops.
Confidence takes a knock.

And before long many men realise they’ve become a version of themselves they never intended to be.

The Viking Trial is designed to reverse that.

For six weeks you’ll be challenged to show up consistently for yourself through simple daily actions that improve your:

* Physical fitness
* Mental resilience
* Discipline

* Sense of purpose

You won’t be expected to be perfect.

You’ll simply be expected to participate.

Massive respect to Rob for stepping forward and being brave enough to confront his struggles head on.

One of the hardest things anyone can do is admit they’re not in a great place and then choose to actually do something about it.

That takes real courage.

At Way of the Viking we have a mixture of men on the tour. Some join simply to stay fit, challenge themselves and be around good people. Others join because they want to build resilience, confidence and strength in every area of their life.

This programme is built for all of it.

The amazing thing is seeing people support each other regardless of where they started.

This Saturday our end of tour challenge will have us tackling just over 40 miles of the South Downs Way in under 12 hours.

Challenge is at the heart of everything we do…

Because through adversity we find out who we are, and we find opportunities to grow and build our resilience.

In the 6 weeks trial that leads up to our final events we build consistency, resilience, fitness both physically and mentally…

And we will be prepared for whatever is thrown at us.

Our next big challenge is the SISU 24 hour character challenge on 12th September…

But to take this on you must first get through the 6 weeks leading up to this of progressional training in all aspects of fitness (physically, mentally and emotionally) so that we know you are prepared.

This starts on 17th July and can be done in person if you are local to us (joining the local in person sessions that we run) or from afar, wherever you are, with daily tasks set for you to complete and progressionally build your capabilities week in week so that you are ready to show SISU in the final challenge…

Our NEXT challenge is a BIG one!!

September 12-13th will be the date of our 24 hour SISU men’s character challenge…

To earn the right to take this on (and to ensure you have the capability to complete it) you must complete our 6 week Viking Trial leading into it with a progressional programme building up your fitness, resilience and capability to cope with discomfort.

You can do this 6 week trial in person or from wherever you may be…

But your aim is to complete at least 80% of the tasks set for you over that 6 week period to have the right to take on the SISU challenge.

What to expect in the SISU Final Raid Challenge:

* 24 hours
* Long periods on feet
* Hilly terrain
* Sleep deprivation
* Cold exposure
* Loaded carries
* Team tasks
* Bodyweight beasting
* Mental stress
* Unknown itinerary
* Not a race but a character challenge
