And that’s a wrap!
We’ve shown you day one. Now, here’s day two.
The last day of our first collaborative Water & Wellness Weekender, and it was absolutely beautiful.
Twelve women gathered to challenge ourselves, try something new and share the experience with like-minded souls.
We paddled with the tide up the River Adur from Shoreham to Upper Beeding, arriving at our overnight camp by paddleboard. Along the way: cooling dips, a riverside picnic and moments of rest.
At camp, we stretched tired bodies, re-nourished with delicious home-cooked food and bathed in sound before bed.
We woke with the sun, galloping cows and the sounds of flute and drum, before gently energising our bodies beneath the swaying branches of the willow tree.
After breakfast, we explored energy, self-belief, our inner voice and our connection to nature, before packing up and paddling home - completing a 16km round trip over 36 hours.
There was laughter, tears, sharing, hard paddling, gentle paddling, river dips, stretches, snores, releases, dreams, hugs and plenty of stories along the way.
We pushed through self-limiting beliefs - sometimes battling the wind, sometimes the current and sometimes our inner critic.
Not everyone paddled the entire journey, and that’s okay. Part of adventure is learning when to push and when to stop. There’s no failure here. We celebrate showing up, saying yes and having a go.
We experienced gentle adventure and moments of mild peril, stretched beyond our comfort zones and faced challenges with courage and kindness - towards ourselves and each other.
As hosts, we learnt something too. No matter how much we prepare, there will always be moments when we need to pivot, adapt and trust ourselves and each other.
I’m so proud of Rainie , Maria and myself for pushing through our own fears and doubts to make this first collaboration a reality.
Was it perfect? No.
Was it a resounding success? Absolutely!
Will we do it again? YES.
