We got the keys in August. We opened in September, after a month of blood, sweat, tears and community.
Because it really did take a village.
Some of you were part of that village. Tiling the kitchen. Donating flooring and materials. Pulling staples out of floorboards, stripping wallpaper and, crucially, turning up with snacks and Prosecco to get us through the long days.
I have never forgotten that warmth and I never will. This studio was built by the people who belong to it.
Ten years. In some ways it feels like minutes ago. In others, it feels as though we have always been here.
Some of you will remember the trip across Headingley to reach us in Kirkstall. Others will remember Meanwood, where you had to walk through the hairdressers and drag freshly cut hair all the way up the stairs to our penthouse. And a select few will remember the very beginning: my home studio, right here in Chapel Allerton.
The rooms in these photographs have been through a lot of transformations since. New floors, new equipment, new corners we have quietly improved year after year. What has not changed is why any of it is here.
So we are marking it properly on Saturday 12 September at Chapel Allerton Park. Pilates in the Park, one big open air class taught by the entire teaching team, followed by a party and an awards ceremony for you.
Ten years of Heal, Prevent, Thrive is really ten years of your commitment, your progress and your stories, some of which began even before the studio did.
Come and be celebrated. You have earned it.
Book on MindBody, type PILATES to join us. Cx
