🧠 One of the most interesting things I learnt this weekend…

If you suffer with vertigo, dizziness or that constant feeling of being ā€œoff balanceā€ the root cause might not always be where you think.

The body is never as simple as ā€œthe pain is where the problem isā€ and that’s why I’m always learning, always training and always trying to understand it better.

Had the pleasure of a visit from Jo Catley, who was struggling with an issue in her left shoulder.

Jo is a fellow massage therapist and was one of my case studies when I was training back in 2002.

Therapists need to take time out and give themselves some TLC so that they can have a long and happy career treating their clients in the best shape possible 😊

This weekend I’m in York on a training course with Dr Julian Baker, diving deeper into the science behind myofascial release and what’s actually happening in the body.

I’m a big believer that you never stop learning in this industry. The more knowledge and techniques I can bring back, the better I can help the people who trust me with their treatment.

Looking forward to the weekend and bringing some new ideas back to the clinic.

This client came to see us after struggling with pull-ups and bicep curls due to restriction and stiffness through her left shoulder.

Even though she was training consistently, the shoulder wasn’t moving properly meaning the strength and control just weren’t matching the right-hand side.

Spent last weekend in Amsterdam and visited the Body Worlds Museum — and honestly, as someone who works with the body every single day, I found it fascinating.

Seeing real human anatomy up close really reminds you just how connected everything in the body is. Muscles, fascia, posture, movement patterns… it all works together.

A lot of people think pain is just about where it hurts, but when you actually see how the body is structured, you realise why the root cause is often somewhere completely different.

It’s easy to forget how incredible the human body really is until you see it like this.

Always learning. Always trying to understand the body better so I can help people better šŸ‘Œ
